FRESH MEAT. AHEM. I mean new people, show off your skillz.
[OOCly, tell us how you did and which group you want to fight in. Don't stress over this -- there aren't hard ability limits on the groups, and we can always move you later.]
Hey, he could do this! Kind of. Jak wasn't a particularly trained fighting - most of his ability came from sheer talent and enthusiasm, and while his kicks and punches looked vaguely impressive, he didn't measure up in any way to the heavy hitters in the group.
Calvin was kind of painful to watch, and it would have been obvious to just about anyone that he'd never actually been in a fight with someone who wasn't taller and stronger than him, let alone won one.
If you didn't have a tiger's reflexes, he was fairly decent at dodging though.
Kyle clearly knew what he was doing and he was doing it very well. He felt that he wasn't really able to show off all of his moves, though, since it was hard to fight dirty when there wasn't really anyone to put into a headlock or elbow in the throat.
Seregil's style took full advantage of his speed and agility, as much about avoiding attacks as getting his own in. His unarmed was passable, but it was obvious that put a blade in his hand and he became truly formidable.

Illyria found that if she thought of the demonstration as a dance in which she didn't have to make up for her partner's clumsy movements, she could give an adequate example of her fighting style. Adequate but boring. She'd much prefer throwing someone large across the room.
[Level 2 please, because she actually doesn't want to smash anybody's head into pieces. Except in her head. Also LJ and your damned markup warnings, how I hateth you.]
Kennedy put on a fairly impressive show of someone who'd at least drilled extensively in a gym setting with safety equipment. She had nearly perfect form in most of the katas she demonstrated, but anyone who knew what to look for might be able to tell that aside from controlled spars against a teacher, she had almost no practical fighting experience at all.

Azula focused on her center, since she was once again indoors and she'd been told about the limitations she had to work with Azula leashed her fire once more.
She began in a drop stance and flowed into a series of motions that could be mistaken for dancing except each motion was deadly in its grace. There were whirling blocks, long, aggressive movement and actions that made good use of Azula's flexibility and agility. She was performing Firebending moves without the fire but anyone familiar with it could discern Azula's style share many similarities with Northern Shaolin Style Kung-Fu.
Irulan had her training knife and proceeded to go through the katas. Her form was perfect and more refined than it was, most likely to do with Stilgar's drilling. She would never be an Alia but she was formidable.

While Jonothon was fairly decent at what he did, he was a good fighter so far as the pubs of London were concerned. He really didn't have what it took to go up against, say, a Jedi, bare-fisted.
At this point, that suited him just fine.
[Level 1, please! I'll probably move him up once he gets used to fighting people without relying on his power.]

Beka picked one of the training batons from the gym, deciding it'd be best to stick to what she knew for now. It took an instant before she got used to its weight, but soon she had the hang of it. There weren't perfect forms to her style and it missed any kind of grace. It was short, direct and effective. Meant to keep you alive and ends fights quickly, but it was obvious she had a lot of experience.
(Level 1, please. *coughs* I didn't forget to add this, really.)

Mat, who was more than a little worried about how many people on this island seemed to show up ready to beat on each other, went through his own demonstration of skill.
His hand-to-hand focused mostly on the sort of moves you'd pick up from getting into bar fights (which, well, yes, that's where he'd learned them).
"I'm better with a quarterstaff," he said, looking a little embarrassed.
Fiona had improved, between various sparring she'd done, a lesson or two from Griff, and working off of her sword lessons. She was fast, she hit hard, and impact didn't seem to faze her too much.
She also managed to keep her temper this time around, but one look at her face said that you probably didn't want to face her with a blade in your hand.
That was about it, her form was sloppy, her punching motions made with the thumb inside the fist, and she actually toppled over backwards when she tried to finish it off with a dramatic kick.
"Ta-da!" she said, from her position flat on her back.
