While Gwynn enjoyed playing with the new colt, she didn't want the other horses to feel neglected. That would be why she was giving them each extra attention when she was feeding them and grooming them. She was a believer in that extra attention could always make someone feel better. In return, the horses were making her feel better in her concern

Not wanting to be troublesome, he nonetheless wandered into the Gig, looking around for whoever might be on duty today.

Gwynn looked up from where she was grooming one of the horses and smiled.

"Hi. Can I help you?"

He waved a bag in answer to that.

"Free sandwich and lemonade if you'd like, for lunch. Compliments of the Cafe Fina."

And him, really, since he footed the cost for these things.

Gwynn's face lit up in a smile.

"Thank you very much," she said sincerely. "I tend to forget about things like eating when I'm at work." She walked over to him and the little colt followed. "Would you like to come in and say hello to the horses?"

The colt poked his nose through the bars to nudge at Liir.

After that horrible class, Helen had fled to the only place on the island she was sure she would feel safe. "Sorry," she said to the no doubt startled Gwynn as she ran through to the back paddock to find the horses.

Gwynn blinked at her in confusion and followed her because she looked quite upset.

"Helen?"

Helen turned back from the horse she was resting her head on. "Yes?" she said quietly. "I said I was sorry, didn't I?"

Gwynn blinked at her in confusion. "Sorry for what?" She didn't understand why Helen would apologize to her. "You seem upset and I was concerned."
