Boardwalk; Monday Afternoon

Jul 20, 2009 13:16

Finding himself more bored than usual lately meant that Chuck had been doing what he neglected to do for the last couple months and exploring the newer sections in town. Being a sucker for, well, food in general but sweet stuff especially srsly. That's how Ed got fat in season two he was naturally drawn to the boardwalk. Come on, boardwalk food was ( Read more... )

Claire's boyfriend was still a puppy.

A puppy with a whole lot of energy.

Which would be why they were walking along the boardwalk. She waved when she spotted Chuck. "Hey, Chuck, how's it going?"

"Can't complain." Well, he could. He just wasn't in the mood. He looked down at the dog. "That a person or an actual dog?"

"It's Jon," she said. "O'Neill. I don't know if you've met him or not."

Jon sat at Chuck's feet, clearly hoping that he would drop some ice cream.

"I don't think I have," Chuck said, pointedly not dropping any ice cream. Please, like Chuck was going to give away ice cream. "Must be something in the water. People are turning into animals all over the place."

There was a lot of town Raven had not seen either, and with her classes over for the day, she decided to go for a walk as well. Azarath did not have an ocean, so the boardwalk lured her down by the shore. The waves and seagulls made too much noise for it to be an appropriate spot to meditate, but it was peaceful in its own way.

When she spied Chuck she waves shyly. "Hello, Chuck, how are you?"

"Hello, Rachel," Chuck said, waving his spoon at her. "I'm good. You?"

"I am well, thank you," Raven said, drawing closer. "I am pleased to hear you are also well. No one has tried to harm you again?"

"Not this week, no," Chuck said, smirking. "But I'm sure it's only a matter of time."

Leda found she rather liked the boardwalk. It was far enough away from the water that she could admire the view without being disconcerted by it.

Impression ball in hand, she strode along, generally feeling good about life at the moment.

Chuck watched Leda for a brief moment, wondering just why people felt the need to look so damn cheerful. It was unnatural, that's what it was.

Because the alternative was not fun for Leda. And a lot of the time she was interested in having fun.

"Afternoon Boone." she nodded to Chuck. "How's it goin'?"

Chuck raised an eyebrow at her and decided to completely ignore the fact that she called him something he didn't understand. "Fine."

When she wasn't in classes, Effy was hardly the sort of girl to just sit in her alcove, or pretend to be sociable.

Wandering was something she did do, however, and her wandering took her near enough to Chuck to make a slight detour, and offer an, "Alright, Chuck?" and what was almost a smile.

"I guess so, Effy," he said in between a bite of his ice cream. "What are you doing all the way out here?"

Effy shrugged, "Didn't have anything better to do," she replied simply. "Campground gets really fucking dull after a while."

"Seriously. The whole Kumbaya thing is wearing thin," Chuck agreed. "I can't wait to get back to my own room."

He would miss living next to Sam, however.

The phone call from LA only made Dani even more restless so here she was, walking around the island.

Chuck thought he recognized the lady walking by from the bar the other night but he couldn't be completely sure. He had been drinking that night after all.

Dani paused, the kid looked familiar and then she realized why. "You're the kid from the bar."

"I'm the kid that owns the bar," Chuck said helpfully. "Chuck Bass."
