Mooby Land, Monday Evening

Finally finishing up the wandering around town to see where everything was, Jean stopped at quite possibly the worst place to eat around.

Hey, she was still young and skinny, she could get away with a burger and fries still! And she's be dead before she'd end up fat, so it all worked!

Tybalt was going to join the metaphorical conga line of young, thin people who were going to be dead before the ever got fat. Burgers, after all, were fast. And cheap. And usually edible.

Usually.

"What manner of swill is being served in this establishment?" There was a burger flying across the counter at a somewhat bedraggled cashier and her manager, yes. "I did specify there were to be no onions or pickles. The bun, it is stale. Too much ketchup hath been used, and not near enough mustard. And the meat? O, the meat..."

Clearly, the state of the meat simply troubled him enough that he couldn't continue.

For the best, really.

Jean was torn between hiding in her booth and trying to get Tybalt to stop before he was kicked out. God. Why were boys so stupid?

"Maybe you should try the chicken nuggets?"

"I've yet to be able to discern exactly what part of the chicken goes into a nugget," Tybalt hissed, glancing sideways in order to snap at-

Oh. It was the ginger who was so much fun to undress with his eyes. Well. Perhaps he could be persuaded to calm down some, if she was taking any interest in the situation at all.

"Although, now that thou hast mentioned such things, I must confess that I do find nuggets to have a certain appetizing quality to them."

Totally dirty.

"You do?" Oh, Jean. Don't sound so happy that your gentle touch has soothed the savage beast.

"Thou wouldst never find me guilty of dishonesty, fair lady," Tybalt replied.

It was practically a purr. This could possibly have something to do with the view, yes.

Savage beast: Totally soothed.

Well, he really wasn't so bad this time around. It might have had something to do with her shielding from all but the shouted thoughts.

"Would you--like to join me?"

Oh, Jean.

Oh, Jean. Silly girl.

"I would be a madman to decline such an offer," Tybalt replied, bowing his head ever so slightly. It looked polite. Mostly it served to get him a better look at her assets.

Hello, nuggets.

Jean chuckled, brushing her hair back behind her ear and nodding toward her booth. "It's over this way."

And then turned to probably give him another excellent view.

Which he was taking full advantage of, yes. Why hello, buns that were most certainly not stale.

"A man could quite possibly discover an entirely new appreciation of fast food," he mused as he followed along behind, "in such a place."

Jean beamed, sure she'd made a difference here. "They have really good chicken sandwiches."

And diet Coke. Because if you ordered those things, the calories no longer counted.

The "Diet" in the brand name totally negated the deep-fried and heavily salted fries that came with the upsized extra value menu, absolutely! Tybalt knew how these things worked, just as well as any other teenager who had taken in the fast food dining experience.

"Made using the breast, no doubt," he noted. Because that was totally the best part... of the chicken.

"It's fat free," Jean agreed brightly. Because egging him on was an excellent idea. "Way better than, like, dark meat."

"I must admit, my tastes have been known to be easily swayed in either direction." Tybalt? Was so egged on. And easily, at that. "One cannot deny, after all, that dark meat still has every bit the flavour."

And the tenderness. And so on.

He was shameless.

"I--" Okay, now she was a little confused. "I don't know if they have that here, thought."

"I've not seen any in this particular establishment, unfortunately," he noted. Plenty of succulent white meat, however, and so he didn't feel as though he was missing out by any stretch of the imagination.

"Perhaps that will change in the future. In order to better satisfy the needs of such patrons with a taste for variety."

"I don't think they change the menu for one person," Jean replied with a smirk. "But other places have it."

Hiiint hiiiint.
