Since it's a new term and we've got new people, we thought we'd spend today just going over stuff and getting to know each other if we don't already." Which was going to make Francine feel extra-special-dumb if nobody new showed up today.
"To start with, if you just wandered in for the...ergh...food, you're welcome to stay, but the actual group is about helping out when weird stuff happens on the island. Which it does. A lot. Sometimes it's harmless and you just have to worry about what's gonna fall out of the sky and get stuck in your hair, but sometimes it gets dangerous.
