Fandom Fight Club: Atlas Gym, Sunday Evening [5.31]

May 31, 2009 07:54

Considering that the majority of the club had probably worked off a good amount of aggression against their reptile friends the other day, Ghanima was pleased to see how many people actually showed up. "Good evening," she said cheerily. "Nice to see no one got eaten by the fish ( Read more... )

Grab someone, hit them, and hit the mats. Mmmm...violence.

Tyler watched for Triela, more than a little warily. He still didn't feel great about this whole situation, but it was what it was -- maybe the fighting would help somehow.

"Sir," Triela approached Tyler stiff-backed and serious.

"Triela," Tyler returned. "So are you here for you at all, or are you just here for Hilshire?"

"I have orders," she said simply.

Then her eyes narrowed minutely. "But I don't want to lose again."

So... some of column A, some of column B on that one.

"When you're here, you take my orders," Tyler told her. "Then your own. Then Hilshire's. And you learn more when you lose. Don't be afraid of losing."

Triela took a deep breath and nodded. "I can follow your orders." More than that... she wasn't sure she could handle.

"And if I lose. that probably means someone is dead." And if it were Hilshire... well...

"Triela? That's very deep, but nobody's going to die here." He paced off to a corner of the mat. "Stretch until you feel ready, then hit me. Hard as you can."

"Yes, sir."

Triela stepped back and spent a few minutes stretching. Then she straightened up and, without any sort of warning, rushed forward. She was fast, inhumanly so. And all-out aggression had always worked for her in the past.

Well, until Pinnochio.

Her attack was quick, hard, and unrelenting, but it wasn't elegant, or even nuanced. Triela didn't really have any technique to speak of when it came to hand-to-hand fighting.

Tyler hadn't expected a fucking warning, that wasn't what this was about. He was more than ready for her.

Mostly, he seemed bored as he grabbed for her wrists to throw her down. She hit him along the way; so what? Wasn't anything new.

Triela went down with a soft grunt of surprise. She wasn't used to people just taking a hit from her. She was surprised enough that she didn't bounce to her feet immediately.

Which gave Tyler a chance to kick her, hard, in the ribs. "Been a while since I took someone down in one move," he said smugly.

Triela's grunt of surprise was even harder at that. He'd attacked her while she was down!

She was tough enough that it didn't really hurt, but she curled up slightly in reflex and grabbed wildly at Tyler's ankle.

The wild grasp didn't connect, and Tyler merely stepped back. His point was made.

"Up. Now."

It was an order.

She was on her feet before he finished speaking. It was an order, after all.

Triela stood, waiting. She didn't seem hurt or out of breath, but she still seemed a bit disoriented at being taken down so easily.

"You hit hard," Tyler said. "You have the strategy of a five year old throwing a fit because mommy won't give her a cookie. Hit me again. Once. Slowly."
