Ben loved getting hit! Okay, maybe not, but he was looking forward to a good sparring session.

Somehow Rose was still feeling like she wanted to try more. Y'know, because she wasn't going to hurt enough tomorrow. "Looking for someone to spar with?" she asked Ben with a grin. "Promise I won't try to punch you if you laugh at me making a fool outta myself."

"Oh, I won't laugh," Ben promised with a smile. "How good are your reflexes?"

"Better than human average," Rose said easily. "Not asking about yours, spaceship boy."

"Just wanted to know how much to hold myself back," Ben said arrogantly cheekily, stepping to the center of the floor. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be," she said, bouncing onto the mat. And she might as well start now so glancing to make sure Ben was ready too, she spun into a kick, expecting him to evade it easily.

He did, smiling a little as he ducked out of the way, then aimed his fists for just under her ribs.

Ow. Rose let her breath out with the hit, but followed it fast with a high jab to try to push him back and a cross towards his shoulder.

The jab hit, but the cross missed as he spun out of the way with reflexes far too fast to be entirely human.

He gave her another smile. Fighting was what he did, and he enjoyed it just a little too much.

Rose grinned back. "Not even going to ask if you're having fun," she teased, snapping a side kick out to put more distance between them.

"Maybe a little," he said, ducking under her leg and sweeping his foot out toward her ankles.

She pulled her leg back, not quite fast enough to jump over the sweep so Rose let it take her down, rolling back up to her feet with almost the same movement.

She'd ended up closer to him than she'd meant, and the same punches he'd tried earlier aimed right under the ribs were thrown back towards him.

Ben moved fast enough to get grazed rather than really pummeled as her fists hit. "Nice," he praised, lashing out with his foot towards her middle as he fell back.

"Thanks," she breathed. This wasn't going to work, but Rose figured there wasn't much reason not to try it anyway, and she stepped back out of the way of the kick, reaching to try to trap his foot between her forearms and yank him off his other foot.

Ben grinned and yanked his foot back faster than most people could blink. Jedi show-offy type.
