Leto was here, children in tow. Because what better way to keep young Fremen occupied than make them practise fighting. It was however requiring a lot of his attention to keep an eye on them, which meant he might have to give up the idea of any sparring himself, unless he could hand over responsibility.

Dinah wandered over to say hi, and leaned against the wall. "Okay, I'm losing track. Jess has been chattering about Victoria, but are some of those other blue-eyed kids yours, and not Professor Atreides'?"

"Hello Dinah," Leto said, trying to keep an eye on the children. "Two of them are Ghanima's, the rest are mine."

Some part of her wanted to say 'typical', but she squashed it as fast as she could. "You met Gawain." And Gawain had met him, gah. "The other blonde girl doing somersaults on the mat is mine. Lena." Who looked so much like Dinah it was kind of frightening. "And the little brown-haired boy who keeps jumping into the ball pit, he's mine. Malcolm." She scrubbed her face with her hand. "And I really like them but they're exhausting."

"It is," he agreed, but the look in his eyes when he watched the children expressed more pride and affection than tiredness.

"Yes, Gawain tried to get Arthur to wake up early this morning." Leto smirked. "And who is Lena's father?" He was going to assume she had a father, even if that didn't seem necessary here.

"Victoria," he said. "Alice is her mother. And Alexander, who's mother is Turtle provided he's actually here. And Hunith. Jessalyn seems to be enjoying herself. Has she told you anything? About her life?"

"Gawain," Dinah said in tones of despair, but couldn't help smiling. "Is awesome. But his poor real mom."

She turned pink when he asked about Lena. "Priestly. They had a blast together yesterday, according to her. Climbed trees and ran all over the island together. He doesn't have any other kids here. We had dinner as a family at the Mexican place. So weird."

Dinah noted the names, nodding a little as she tried to remember them, then bit her lip. "A little bit. She lives in Arrakeen with her parents. You were right, she's very much a princess." She smiled a little, watching Jess flit around. "But Fremen, too. She mentioned trips to the sietch, she loves that. She's training in the Weirding Way. I'm Protector of Arrakeen, according to her." Dinah tilted an eyebrow at him. "And she already has telekinesis, did you catch that?"

"Ah, the Bene Gesserit are going to love that." Leto frowned. "But I don't know about the politics situation..." He shook his head, smiling at Dinah. "And there is no point. I have to trust that whatever version of myself her father is, I will assure her safety."

Dinah looked unhappy about that. "Your sister told me about that, in one of our sessions. I hope her parents are keeping an eye on Jess. She keeps trying to use TK for stuff she shouldn't. Like hitting her brother," she said, rolling her eyes. "And I have to admit, I'm kind of ... surprised, that we're living on Arrakeen. The other three are either in New Gotham, or New Gotham and somewhere else, like Santa Cruz."

"Why does that surprise you?" Leto looked at her. "All my children live on Arrakis." He smiled. "Perhaps my options for the future are limited.

"Well, true." Dinah bit her lip, torn. "I just can't imagine being so far away from my family and my home. I talk to them every week, I write them even more often. I guess I'd do it, if we had a little girl around, but it's very weird for me to think about." She paused to add, "And I guess we're not married." Which had also been weird to hear. And again, unlike the other three kids.

He gave her a surprised look. "Married? No, that would not be possible because I have to marry my sister for political reasons. But neither were my parents. Your other children... In their realities, are you married to their fathers?" He did have trouble seeing Arthur marry Dinah, but perhaps the man did have more options.

His hand reached out for her, but halfway he remembered, and let it drop.

Dinah saw that, her fingers twitching toward his, then looked down and up again, game face on. Mostly. "Yeah. All of them. Some of them I kept my own name, but still married them. And I'm a private investigator in two worlds, at least. Gawain hasn't said what his mom does." She looked thoughtful. "Which is kind of something I was thinking of as a career, but not really in depth yet."

You married Arthur? Leto was tempted to ask, but he didn't.

Then Hunith approached them, smiling cheerfully. It wasn't unusual that her father had women friends of various kinds, but at least he should introduce her. "Father! You know you have to introduce me to everyone." She turned to Dinah. "I'm Hunith Faroula Atreides, Princess Royal," she said.

Leto raised an eyebrow. "You seem to manage that on you own," he smirked.

"It's very nice to meet you, your royal highness," Dinah said, trying to keep the amusement out of her voice. The eyes were a giveaway, and she couldn't be weird about this. Leto had had to put up with Gawain. "I'm Jess's mom. Or I will be. Or something. Dinah Lance, just friends with your dad."

Not anything else right now. Nope.

Hunith laughed. "Just call me Hunith, formalities are so boring." Just friends. She had heard that before. "So, how do you know each other?"
