There were two things Ben liked most about going on a date in Fandom. First, it was unlikely that his plans would be derailed by his having to run off and fight a bunch of evil psychic bees. Second, the person he was going on a date with lived across the hall, so it was hard to be late

Unfortunately, Daisy had a chance to peruse the menu and it took quite a bit of control to not let her expression fall into something not far from horror.

"You didn't mention," she said, "that it was deep fried."

No wonder Daisy'd never heard of one before.

"Is that a deal-breaker?" Ben asked.

"There's more red meat on this menu," noted Daisy, "than I think I've eaten in an entire year."

"It could be worse," Ben said. "The menu could be made of meat."
