63 Serendipity Place, Late Wednesday Afternoon

Matt had only just gotten in to see HA the office and if it had been set up yet. There were books to be shelved and files to be put away, but the movers had done a surprisingly good job with the furniture.

Of course, setting up the fax machine may bring a few problems, but he'd cross that bridge when he got to it.

Or after he answered his phone.

"Hello, Foggy." He had it set on the dumbest ringtone he could find when Foggy called. It managed to cheer him right up to hear now.

"Hey, Matt. How are you? Things good? You settled in yet?"

Someone sounded a bit eager for the answer to all of them to be in the negative.

"I'm fine. The island is fine and yes, I'm in the office now," Matt replied, running his hand over the desk toward one of the boxes of files.

"Oh. Well. Do they have any good food there? I'm sure they can't make a decent hot dog in Maryland."

Matt snorted and shook his head. "I haven't tried one yet, but I'll be sure to keep you appraised of the quality of hot dogs here."

"Or you could just come back to New York. C'mon man, people will ask where Murdock is in Murdock & Nelson! I'm running out of excuses and keep telling them you're in the bathroom. People will think you have an irritable bowl or something if you don't come back."

Lifting the lid off the box, Matt just grinned. "I'll live with that stigma. And I'll be back if you need any help on a case, okay?"

"You're damn right you will," Foggy replied, sounding a bit mollified. "So... seen any hot chicks there yet?"

"Goodbye, Foggy." God help anyone who knew Daredevil if they saw him grin over that one. He clicked off the phone and started the task of reading the braille labels on the files to see which ones they were.
