Saturday Afternoon - the alley near Nolita and Wolfram & Hart

Veronica and Jaye walk into town and Veronica looks for the alley that Rory saw Marty run out of the night of Kitty's death.

[ooc: this isn't locked since it's in a public location - however - I would take it as a kindness if your characters wouldn't interfere with what Jaye & Veronica are going to find. If you'd like to interact with them

"Are we going somewhere specific or are you skulking around for fun?" Jaye wonders as they walk.

Veronica hesitates. She's not used to sharing her investigations with other people. But since Jaye sought her out, she figures she owes her some explanation.

"This is the alley where Kitty Pryde was killed," she confides in a low tone.

[fates_jaye]

"Oh," Jaye says, suddenly feeling a little creeped out by the place. "We're visiting?"

[marsheadtilt]

"No, we're looking for the message," Veronica says.

She sighs. "Marty Blank told me he lost his digital audio recorder. He was here the night Kitty was killed. I'm thinking maybe he dropped it somewhere around here when he was running out of the alley. Help me look?"

[fates_jaye]

"Yeah, definitely," she says, looking around to see if it was anywhere obvious. "I hope someone didn't pick it up."

[fates_jaye]

*from inside the purse*

Take a swim.

[fates_jaye]

Jaye makes a face, but doesn't say anything. There's nothing resembling water here.

[marsheadtilt]

Veronica raises an eyebrow.

"There isn't even police tape around the place. The sheriff is a moron, I know him from my home town."

She looks around at the scattered boxes and junk that is typical of an alley.

"I don't even know where to start."

[fates_jaye]

Jaye begins picking things up, looking under them, kicking some things around with her shoe rather than actually touch them. "Well, I've never messed with a crime scene before."

[fates_jaye]

Take. A. Swim.

[fates_jaye]

If Veronica wasn't here, Jaye would yell at her lion. As Veronica is here, Jaye tries not to groan too loudly and looks around-

And sees the dumpster.

"Oh, no."

[marsheadtilt]

Veronica glances up from the stack of boxes she's poking through.

"Oh no what?"

[fates_jaye]

Jaye manages not to whimper as she walks over to the dumpster. "Of course it would be in here. Of course. Makes perfect sense."

She grabs onto the edge of the dumpster, trying to climb up onto it. It doesn't work so well.

Veronica's eyes get very wide as she realizes Jaye's intentions.

"Um, Jaye, do you really think it's possible for it to be in there?"

[fates_jaye]

"Completely, because this is the way my life works," she says. "A little help?"

[marsheadtilt]

Veronica looks skeptical, but goes over to Jaye.

She puts her hands together like a step so Jaye can put a foot in and get a boost.

Veronica is obviously stronger than one would guess by looking at her.
