Caritas, Saturday evening

Oct 11, 2008 16:16

It was supposed to be Brooke who opened Caritas today, all part of her new job. Unfortunately for Brooke, her twin sister Jaina had attempted to kill her while she was suffering from a rare tropical disease.

Unfortunately for Jaina, she hadn't actually killed Brooke, who was now just comatose in the clinic, so the fact that she was opening up ( Read more... )

Like that's any fun. Go back to the bar, or sing like good soap stars do.

Temari wasn't at the bar tonight. No... she had enough on her mind with Charles and Jamie and Harvey...

She loved one, burned another and was thinking about betraying the last...

"Oh, Jamie... I hope you can understand what I must do."

Always one to size up any other sort of competition, Hermaphroditus realized pretty damn quickly that he had nothing to worry about. It was a known fact that he could offer to anyone something that very few others, but, he had to admit, something about this one in the lounge caught his eye. No, not the boobs, although that was the obvious choice, because she'd clearly never heard of a word called subtly, but....something else. He couldn't quite place it. Maybe he recognized her...

...if he did, though, it had to have been from the earlier years, back before he discovered standards and class.

Subtle was for flat chested people!

Temari gave a look of longing to nothing in particular. "Oh, my love!"

Intrigued, Hermaphroditus picked up his drink and drifted over toward the twin balloons. "Pardon the intrusion," he purred, "but I couldn't help but notice your pining there. You seem distressed, dear."

"Oh!" Temari looked away, wiping away tears. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern."

"Darling," Hermaphroditus took a seat, her voice flowing with a sternly gentle sort of sympathy, "you look about as fine as your boobs look real."

"They are real," Temari said, pouting a little and holding her breasts. "I just-- I don't want to hurt the man I love, but I don't know if there's a way around it."

Hermaphroditus gave both the girl and her breasts a skeptical look, but then batted it away with her long eyelashes and gave a small smile. "Love's just a fickle bitch that that, isn't she? Forget BDSM; you want pain, honey, you go fall in love. What's the problem? Another guy catching your eye?"

"My boss, he wants me to betray my beloved!" Temari said, throwing herself at Hermaphroditus for a hug.

"Oh, there, there, sweetie," Hermaphroditus took the hug in stride, bringing his hand up to soothingly pat the poor girl's back, and, wouldn't you know, even a goddess could be wrong every once in a while. This breasts were certainly real; Hermaphroditus could always tell. They certainly were pert! This girl could hug her just as much as she needed. "That always is a tricky one, isn't it?"

"I can't leave him! I've only just found out what love is!"

"Well, honey," Hermaphroditus reasoned, smoothing out the poor girl's hair, "there's always the courts. That reeks of a nice and easy, shut-and-close workplace harassment suit if you ask me."

She was so kind... Temari wasn't sure why this comforted her so much, but it did. "Thank you... Have we met before?"

"Oh," Hermaphroditus laughed a little, kindly, at the question, "I don't believe so; I'm certain I would have remembered one such as yourself. There is a certain air of familiarity about you, but one often finds such a feeling when they find someone with whom they might find a connection with, you know."

"I just find you so comforting," Temari said, batting her eyes at the other girl.
