As they rounded the corner that led to the thin barrier that separated Tartarus and Fandom, they were able to see the link between the two worlds pulsing, as if power was building along its perimeter. On the other side of the hole, they could see a dark staircase leading down.

"..." Deadpool was a fan of the ellipses right now. "Anyone feeling like they're in a Mcfarlane comic right now?"

A beat.

"Just me?"

Jo was struck by a thought as she stared at the hole. "Does this count for credit?"

Which was an excellent question.

Deadpool paused, thinking it over for a moment. "As long as you don't die, yes. We'll call it your practical exam."

"I love exams that start with 'as long as you don't die,'" Katara said, making a face.

She eyed the barrier and pushed her way to it, shuddering as a feeling over cold passed over her as she broke through.

Now just the creepy huge staircase. Awesome idea, Katara, really.

Dawn took a deep breath and held it as she followed Katara, pretending she was perfectly fine with walking between dimensions. Like she did it all the time.

She relaxed a tiny when she got to the stairs and realized the world hadn't ended. Yay, them!

Robin peeked down the stairs, and without even meaning to, started humming the Slinky jingle as she trailed down after them.

Lois recognized the tune and tried to hold in her laughter but she couldn't help the loud snort that came through.

Ah, well, it sounded demon-y enough as to not attract too much unwanted attention.

Gavin didn't know the tune but it was catchy enough to have him tapping his hand against his hip in rhythm.

And bobbing his head.

Shhh.

Catching the song being hummed, Deadpool grinned.

"What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound?"

"If anyone starts making slinking sounds we may have to stop for a thwapping," Jaina warned.

"That's really not appropriate behaviour until after the rescue mission's over."

Jo might have misheard Jaina a little.

"You don't like playin' with slinkies?" Murdock might have missed the point, just a little. "Hey, I think," he dug around in a jacket pocket, "Yep! I got a yo-yo!"

Really, really missed the point.

Liz's eyes were wide at that, she decided that she really didn't want to know.

Reno eyed Murdock warily.

...

"Boss, I think you just might be a yo-yo, yo."

Roy couldn't disagree with Reno, but he had an urge to use the yo-yo to shut some people up. It's probably just would cause more noise and he quickened his steps up as he slipped further up the stairs. Someone had to stay alert.
