The people in charge now knew where the kidnapped people were being kept. A party had gathered and they were on their way to the depths of the Underworld to bring their people back, no matter what stood in their way.

The caverns were dimly lit by torches that lined the walls every few feet. A stray spirit would occasionally swoop through the tunnels on its way to the surface, but it paid no attention to the travellers. Most of the spirits were in Fandom now and they were calling to those few who remained. Soon they would all be together and free to roam the surface.

"Ooo! Spooky! Who wants to start the scaaaary stories?" Deadpool asked, pulling out a sword. "Tell the one about the guy with a hook for a hand!"

So these were the catacombs those two demons were talking about. They were nice...as far as really, really spooky caverns and tunnels went.

"Can't we tell the one about how everyone lived happily every after?"

"But how realistic is that?"

"Hey, it could totally happen," Dawn argued, almost distractedly, trying to keep an eye out for threat-type things.

Okay, maybe it couldn't happen to her or anyone she knew, but it could, in theory, right?

"Sure it could," Jo agreed. "Stranger things have." She was just trying to think of some.

There was a part of Jaina that was so used to being told to cut the chatter for stuff like this that she almost wanted to say that now. But she knew she'd get smacked down, so as long as she kept a lookout for bad things, hey. "Yeah, things like ghosts invading and people being dragged underground?"

Murdock chambered a round into the rifle, just in case. He was also keeping a wary eye out for beasties. And ghosts. He wasn't keen on running into another spirit; once was enough for a day, thanks.

"Ghosts are freaky," he deadpanned.

Gavin was just going to listen, thank you. For one, he had nothing to contribute, for two, of course ghosts were freaky, for three, this group could chat enough for him.

So, he was just going to be quiet.

"No more than wacky demons and mythical creatures and mutants with eeeevil powers or power hungry dictators in metal suits!" Deadpool replied. "Okay! First thing first... no one gets killed. Thems the rules."

"Ghosts ain't the freakiest thing out there," Reno contributed. "At least they ain't the angels again, anyhow."

Somehow, walking to Tartarus managed to be less terrifying, thank you.

"Not dyin's a good idea," he added.

"Yeah, dying would suck," Lois said as she unwrapped a piece of gum. She offered the pack to anyone near her.

Liz was still keeping silent but she still agreed that not dying was a good idea.

"Not alerting the entire underworld that we're here with all this chattering seems like a good idea too," Roy remarked dryly, apparently not minding if he did get smacked for it.

"Good luck with that," said Jaina, almost sympathetically.

Whatever, Robin had gum. She didn't need to be chattering, considering she was trying really hard not to snap it. That was such an annoying thing to do, and so tacky, and how did more people not snap their gum? Plus, what was up with the people who did it on purpose? That was so obnoxious, and --

Oh, right, Underworld.
