Away Team Gathering - Saturday Evening [Outside Town Hall]

Jun 21, 2008 14:04

A decision had been made. Teams to go and find the artefacts needed to bring down Hades and seal the hole between the Underworld and Fandom had been formed. They'd been to gather the supplies and weapons and were now returning and gathering, ready to go.

There was one teleporter per team, ready to whisk them away to Mount Olympus.

Something wasn't right. They weren't where they were supposed to be, but this was definitely Mount Olympus. They had some hiking to do, at least until they were too tired for the night to carry on.

Orbing five people wasn't something Wyatt had ever done before. As tempting as it was to rush off into danger by himself, he resisted and waited for his team. When they were ready, he orbed them to their destination. Well, almost. It felt like he was hitting a wall, and carrying that many people, there was no way he could try to force his way past it. Instead the orb went tumbling backwards, ending up much further down the mountain than they wanted.

"Ow," Wyatt said crossly, rubbing his head when they reformed.

Xander swayed hard, but didn't actually fall over. "You ever think about getting a job at Portalocity?"

The teleport had had the usual effect on Seregil and he was just able to move to the edge of the group before he fell to his knees and was sick.

Peter looked at Seregil with concern. "You okay?"

Seregil nodded, sitting back and taking deep breaths to try and dispel the nausea. "'m not a good traveller by magic," he said.

Once she found her own center of balance again, Cimorene walked over to Seregil and handed him one of the many handkerchiefs she always had with her. "Sadly, I've had worse."

Seregil smiled at her as best he could. "You should've seen me when I came through the portal to Fandom in the first place. Was puking for hours."

"There was some kind of barrier that knocked me back," Wyatt said, staring up the mountain. "We'll need to climb the rest of the way. Come on." He started moving upward, not wanting to wait.

"You gonna be okay enough to go?" Peter asked Seregil, since they were fortunate enough to have healing power in the mix.

Seregil nodded. "Not the first time I've had to deal with this. You get used to it."

"At least it didn't turn you purple?" Xander offered, looking on the bright side.

"I think I know why teleporting went out of fashion," Alex grumbled.

"Come on!" Wyatt called back. "We don't have time to waste." He was still struggling not to freak out about Isabel being taken but had to vent his anger and frustration somehow.

If Peter was the sort of person inclined to be petty he might note how some people managed to stay polite even if they hadn't been considered good enough boyfriend material by certain other people.

But he was worried about Isabel too, and Bridge, and Dean, and of course Sam, so instead he noted none of that and started the hike.

"Snapping won't help." Cimorene said tartly and began to hike up, careful to keep from tripping on her sword. "How far away do you think we are?"
