Teddy was not reading a comic at work. Really he wasn't.

Why anyone would think that was beyond him.

...

Oh, shut up, he just got the latest issue of Really Fast Guy!

York Gallery was open.

Where the comics totally weren't.

Chad was going through a period where he wanted to do something, but didn't know what, and, then halfway through Stairway to Heaven on his guitar, he realized that, wait a second, Teddy had work now, and he could go bug him.

Of course, the bugging came with sandwiches, so Teddy couldn't complain.

"Brought you dinner again," he said, setting the bag from Luke's on the desk for Teddy, tilting his head to get a better look at the comic he'd been flipping through.

"Think your boss constitutes that as high class arty material?"

"It's art," Teddy said, setting the comic down. "I'll even argue that one."

"Yeah, but," Chad said, arguing lightly for the sake of discussion as he leaned (carefully) on the counter, "it's not all fancy-schmancy or anything, so...An' is that a new one? I don't think I remember seein' that one."

As if Chad really paid that much attention to Teddy's comic books...

As much as Teddy paid attention to his music, really.

"Just got it," Teddy admitted, leaning over the desk toward him.

"Cool," Chad said, and, because he was a good boyfriend who tried to be interested in his boyfriend's dorky interests, he asked, "Anything good happening in it?"

"Hinting at a new villain." Oh yes, this was a happy and dorky Teddy now. "Hopefully it'll be awesome."

Okay, and so maybe part of baiting the nerd talk out of Teddy was because it was completely and utterly adorable when he got all dorky. "What kind of new villain? Any reason why it wouldn't be awesome?"

"Because if I'm right, it's gonna be an old ally of his." There might have even been some bouncing there.

The slight bouncing wasn't fair; the slight bouncing almost made it too cute.

"Yeah?" Chad asked, thinking that, well, there was a familiar one there. "What would be his reason for goin' bad, if he was good?"

Teddy beamed. Anyone taking an interest in the comics was just the best thing ever. "I don't know yet, but I'm sure they'll explain!"

He was also a bit naive when it came to comic book companies.

"Yeah, one can hope. So long as they don't, like, go and introduce a twist like that and then make you have to sit through introducing fifty million other unimportant bad guys that the heroes have to weed through first before getting anywhere further on the plot."

Not that Chad's canon had an issue with that, or anything.

Of course not!

Teddy gave him a funny look. "I hope not. That would just get boring."

Chad nodded, smartly, in agreement, with a slight grunt to match.

"We could always write angry letters to the writer if that does happen."

"I can help, yeah," Chad nodded. "Can't guarantee my help would be any good, but..."
