The Beach - Monday Afternoon

Oct 15, 2007 14:08

Haku sat on the beach not caring at all about the weather. There were two scrolls in his hands as he pulled his knees up to his chin, watching the waves crash against the beach. There might have been tears in his eyes, but that was impossible. Ninja don’t cry.

He’d handwavily written to Zabuza after the dance, telling him about it and inviting him to Parent’s Weekend. It had been a while, so Haku didn’t think that he’d get a response, until today when it came.

Haku read over his letter once more.

Zabuza-san,

I hope that this letter reaches you in good health; I hope that it reaches you at all. Things are going very well here at school; I have been learning a lot about this world and the world outside of the ninja villages and have of course been sure to keep up with my training.

Things here are very different than our world, but similar. I’ve made quite a few friends, mostly a boy named Teddy, who reminds me of Naruto-kun but less spastic. There was a dance the other day and I was finally able to wear the yukata that I got so long ago. It was a lot of fun, kind of like those festivals that we used to pass by all the time, but everyone was so dressed up, almost like royalty. Teddy was trying to get me to hook up with another guy there named Ronan, but there wasn’t a chance to.

There is also a weekend coming up for parents and guardians to come and visit. I don’t think you would like it, but it would be very nice to see you Zabuza-san. I miss you.

I don’t expect it at all, but it would be nice to hear back.

Yours,

Haku
Before looking over at Zabuza's letter.

Haku

Ronan, huh? I'll remember that name. I want a picture of you in that yukata How many kids there do I have to kill for touching you?

Got a job, won't be there.

Zabuza

There was a large mass of scribbled out writing at the top of Zabuza’s letter that Haku wished he could see. But no matter how he looked it was nothing but a mass of ink that boiled down to the fact that Zabuza wasn’t coming.

[Open!]

beach, haku
