Photo Hut, Wednesday, 9/12

Sep 12, 2007 08:17

Johnny was at work but he probably couldn't be found. He was somewhere in the back room totally not hiding at all from his girlfriend who brought him coffee every work day. Not at all.

Stupid radio.

Photo Hut was open.

Mary stopped by since she had nothing else to do now that Hoshi was working at the hotel on Wednesdays. She hadn't heard the radio, otherwise she would be at the hotel trying to find out why her employees were staging a coup.

Johnny was in the back room, fiddling with anything he could fiddle with.

And to hide. Though he'd never ever suggest such a thing. Come on!

Mary was a little surprised to find no one working in the store, though she could hear noise coming from the back room. That could only mean one thing.

"Leo, are those more of your special brownies?"

Mary. He recognized her voice. And he was not going to stare at her breasts oh my god.

He peeked his head out of storage supply, grinning. "Oh, hey Mary. Just me. No special brownies."

Mary didn't mind the staring, really. If she did, she might actually wear decent clothing.

"Hi Johnny! Hey, if Leo does offer you brownies, I'd advise against it. He invited me over for brownies a while back and I was completely out of it for the rest of the day."

"Yeah, I believe he doctors them up a bit," he said, knowing he'd definitely eat the brownies if they were offered.

"How's it going, Mary? You been doing all right?"

"I'm not doing too badly," said Mary, smiling. The smile might have been a little forced since she still had some worries in the back of her mind about how Samantha was doing after their weekend in D.C.

"Too badly?" There was a story there, he was sure of it.

"I went to a conference this weekend," said Mary. "My friend Sam was there. I told you about her, right? The one who got kidnapped by one of her clients?"

"Yeah, you told me about her. What kind of conference and I'm guessing it didn't go so well?"

"It was for people in the hospitality industry. The conference itself was great. I have a lot of really neat ideas for things I want to bring to the hotel," said Mary, smiling briefly. "But when Sam I and tried to go out to a club Saturday night, there was this really cute guy checking us out and it totally freaked out Sam."

"The whole kidnapping thing; she's probabaly never going to be normal again." Johnny said, probably not one to give great advice here. But it's what he was thinking.

Mary would normally have gone to Stan for advice, but she was feeling a little weird around him ever since he confessed to having feeling for her. "It was so weird to see her like that. She's the most fearless person I know, and she was so terrified that she couldn't sleep alone after what happened. She was clinging to me all night long."

Oh no. There went his mind. Two women in bed. Being clingy. Oh god. Oh someone save him from his wicked thoughts.

"I love Savannah." Yeah, focus Johnny, focus.

"Of course you do," said Mary, surprised by the change of topic. "Is something wrong?"

"Um. No. No. Why do you ask?" He was drumming his fingertips atop the counter, probably tapping his foot too.
