Aly raised an eyebrow at Gabriel as she tried to clean off her knife on her sleeve. "I thought the hedgehogs were driving you crazy?"

"That's not the point," Gabriel replied, sounding irritated. "The world drives me crazy. The point is they barged in here and took them without asking."

"And it's possible," Karal interjected. "That they were in the church seeking sanctuary. The goblins invaded that sanctuary and took them away. They should not simply be permitted to roam the island."

"They might've been," Rikku said with a shrug. "Or maybe they're running from the goblins 'cause they're evil and the goblins are trying to take them out. I mean, just 'cause they're cute doesn't mean they're the good guys, yeah?"

Aly glanced from Rikku to Karal, amused at both of them. "Either way, we should probably go find out before armies of both descend on the island."

"So how do we find out who's who?" Rikku asked, hopping up and pocketing her screwdriver. "I mean, we can't just ask them."

Karal was staring at Gabriel, eyes wide, and so was Altra, although Altra didn't look surprised. "I don't know," he finally said, shaking it off. "Find them to start with, and then try and communicate? Altra may be able to help."

Gabriel didn't like the idea of trusting anything to the cat, but he had to admit that it might be useful. "If he can talk goblin speak, why not?"

Aly's eyebrow had gone up as well at Gabriel's comment and she made note of it and the god-touched cat's reaction.

"Usually not that hard to talk to things once we know where they are," she said easily. "I can track as I'm assuming Rikku can, but I'd guess Altra can do it better."

Altra looked extremely smug and made his way to the front of the group. Head high, eyes half closed, he cast around for a scent, adding a quick dash of magic. :That way,: he told Karal, and started off.

"They are that way," Karal said, though it was probably obvious, given Altra was now trotting in the direction.

"Then that way we go," Rikku said, nodding as she fell into step behind. "Should we stop and grab weapons or anything? All my stuff's back in the weapons locker, sorry."

Aly nodded. "As long as Altra can still pick up the scent after the detour, I'm fine with it."

Karal sighed at the 'cat. "He will be able to, yes."
