Gabriel  was in a surprisingly good mood, and it couldn't be due to the weather, as he rarely cared much about it. Unless it rained and his clothes got wet, that was another trying part of being human. John hesitated at the threshold of the church. Would she be here? ...could she be here? Behind these doors could be a bouncy blonde, putting another eyepatch on the statue of Joseph or hiding with a water pistol full of holy water.

He walked through the doorway as if ready for battle.

"Why'n the hell would you live up here when there's a perfectly good spot down there?" He pointed to the basement...which was to say he pointed vaguely downward.

He stopped and peered at the man, narrowimg his eyes. "You didn't take apart the still, did you?"
