Gabriel  was in a surprisingly good mood, and it couldn't be due to the weather, as he rarely cared much about it. Unless it rained and his clothes got wet, that was another trying part of being human. Anyway, he couldn't define a cause for this slightly disturbing positive attitude, and even considered a walk round the island during some point

John hesitated at the threshold of the church. Would she be here? ...could she be here? Behind these doors could be a bouncy blonde, putting another eyepatch on the statue of Joseph or hiding with a water pistol full of holy water.

He walked through the doorway as if ready for battle.

Gabriel looked up from behind the altar. "Hey! People live here!"

"They used to. Chrono?" He got a better look. "You're not Chrono."

"Who's Chrono? Haven't seen him around here. Unless he's a squirrel."

[apocalypsesoon]

"He's--nevermind. You haven't seen a nun here? Or anyone else?"

"A nun?!" Gabriel looked horrified. "Do I look like I'd live here with other people around."

[apocalypsesoon]

"I don't know. Who are yoU? WHy are you here?" He took a step back.

The kid had no manners. This was one of those moments where Gabriel really missed the wings and the fiery sword. "I'm Gabriel," he said, arms folded.

"John Connor. What is your business in this church?"

"I live here," Gabriel replied cooly.

"Where, in the basement? Do they know that?" John doesn't have a clue who 'they' are, but when you're being threateny, vague works just as well.

"No, in here." Gabriel gestured around the room, ignoring the other question.

"Why'n the hell would you live up here when there's a perfectly good spot down there?" He pointed to the basement...which was to say he pointed vaguely downward.

He stopped and peered at the man, narrowimg his eyes. "You didn't take apart the still, did you?"

Gabriel stared at him. "Why would I want to live in the basement? And no, I haven't disassembled anything."

"Because there's a bedroom? And a still? Which should be in working order. I'll have to test it. A lot..." he said to himself.

He shook his head to clear it. "Anyways. You shouldn't be living in the church. It's bad for business."

Gabriel snorted. "You're getting repetitive. I advice you to leave."
