Valentine was here for the punch, and he was going to stay for the punch. The fact that he was starting to get a little tipsy and he had lost his large hat somewhere meant nothing.

It was still good punch.

"I happen to be a very important man," Valentine said, waving a finger in the air. "I have a tower. And... punch." He wobbled a little and offers River a grin. "Good stuff, isn't it? Like something remotely punch-like, but not entirely. I think. Have some?"

River emphatically shook her head. "Makes me sleepy. Where's your tower?"

"S'not here appreciating the punch," Valentine stated matter-of-factly, waving his cup around and losing half its contents on the ground. "Some fine punch here!" Whatever was left in the cup was swallowed before Valentine continued. "Doesn't know what it's missing, honsestly. Stupid... building... thing."

This conversation was beginning to be difficult to follow. River just nodded. "Stay away from the boats." Falling into the water would be a bad thing in Valentine's current state.

Valentine paused in the refilling of his cup to pout for a moment. "I'm not allowed to go near the boats? Can you go near the boats?" He paused for a moment, leaning toward River and inspecting her closely. "Are you a very important man, too?"

"A very important woman...?" Another half-cup full of punch met the ground. "I'm a very impotent man... important man. I have a tower. Have you got a tower, too?"

"A spaceship? Is that anything like a tower?" Valentine leaned back against the table-- and missed. Peering up at her from the seat of his pants on the ground, he continued as though he hadn't fallen at all. "Do spaceships take off without you? I might have to get one."

"I bet your spaceship doesn't have a scullery, though," Valentine mused, attempting to get back upright again and failing. After a few more failed attempts, he settled back against the table leg and pouted.

After dancing for a little while, Annette got some more punch. It tasted just a little bit different than ealier, but it was still good.

Dick grabbed himself a glass of punch and sniffed it warily. When he could detect a good bit of alcohol in there he grinned. "Finally."
