After a walk -- well, a slosh -- around town checking out which buildings looked like they might be in need of some repair work after the flood, Xander scraped the mud off his boots at the doorway to the Perk and ordered himself a very big cup of coffee and a very big chocolate muffin. Aly...wasn't entirely sure why town seemed to have been half-underwater, but after dropping her things off at her apartment, the best place to find out seemed to be the Perk. Plus there was coffee. So she ordered a big coffee and detoured by Xander's table to say hi.

"Hey!" Xander waved and gave her a big smile. Then remembered that he was supposed to be frowning at her. So he did. Which probably looked a little insane. But only slightly because dude, Fandom; on the local insanity scale? Not that high.

She smiled back then tilted her head at the sudden frown and slid into the chair opposite him. "Xander. You look like a man with something on his mind." She grinned. "If you're going to blame me for the flood, well, I hate to break it to you, but I didn't do it."

"No, apparently somebody pissed off Poseidon. As you do." Xander looked out at the mostly de-flooded town. "Actually I was supposed to talk to you about mud-wrestling."

Aly raised an eyebrow. "As you do."

"As you do, apparently." Xander pointed his muffin at her. "With Bridge?"

The eyebrow stayed up though she was getting awfully amused. "You're referring to my class?"

"Yeah. I heard about that on the radio, and then when I asked Bridge about it, he said something about you not caring about age-differences?"

Aly laughed and took a sip of her coffee. "Yes, that's right. Rather, I think I said to the effect of all the things that could get in someone's way, that's fairly low on the list."

"Seriously? With a kid Bridge's age?" Yes, he still had hold of the wrong end of this particular not-dirty stick.

"What exactly are we talking about here?" Aly asked, setting her cup down.

[needsaparrot]

"I mean I guess you're a little younger than me, but he's your student." Frown actually managing to turn into a scowl, there.

Aly stared and then started laughing. A lot.

"Are you seriously telling me that you think that having a mud pit as part of an obstacle course in a class is inappropriate?" she asked.

Yeah, she knew what he was trying to get at. She was just hoping he'd see the ludicrousness of the idea for himself before she had to push it in his face.

"No, but wrestling with one of your students in it and telling him you have no problem with age differences? Little bit maybe, yeah."

She raised an eyebrow. "Okay. For one thing? There was no 'wrestling.' For another, if you honestly inferred that I was referring to myself in that particular conversation, you're kinda being a moron."

"Well sure you'd say it wasn't wre--" Xander stopped. "Um?"
