Anakin wasn't really paying attention to the weather--which wasn't precisely beach-friendly--as he perched on a rock and watched the waves crash against the shore.

His mind was whirling a little too fast with memories of what he had done--and who he was about to admit it to.

Faithful made himself more comftorable by getting rid of as much sand as possible with his tail. "Anakin." He paused. "Among others."

"I want to make things right," Anakin replied. "Or at least undo some of the damage I've caused. Staying home and being executed wouldn't quite cover it."

Faithful gave Anakin a Look. Or possible groomed his tail. It was hard to tell. "It would make people in your galaxy feel better." He pointed out.

"Here..." Anakin trailed off. "Here there are still people who knew me...before. Having to explain what came after," --he thought back to his discussion with John-- "is my version of a living hell. Death, frankly, would be easier."

"No," Anakin said firmly. "I deserve to suffer. It hardly comes close to almost twenty years of atrocities." He paused, trying to stop his voice from shaking. "The trillions of lives I ended."

"I'm working on it," Anakin said quietly. "I told John before you came. It...didn't go well." He stared down at his clasped hands. "Not that I expected it to. He's a decent human being and I was a monster."
