The Perk [all morning]

Anakin was in the back corner of the Perk, holding the World's Largest Cup of black coffee between his hands and staring at the snow outside.

Maybe his arrival had gone unnoticed and he could have a quiet morning by himself to acclimate.

Isabel had actually missed radio last night because of Oscar mocking and avoided the podcast this morning, not quite willing to listen to the details of the memorial service.

In the mood for caffiene in a more elaborate form, she headed to the Perk, got herself a large mocha and a muffin, then settled down at a table with a sudoku puzzle book. As she opened it, Isabel glanced casually around the room at the other patrons, only to stare openly when she noticed the person sitting in the back corner.

Anakin gave her a small smile. "Good morning," he said conversationally.

"Yeah, hi...morning," Isabel said weakly. Meanwhile her mind was trying to figure out what freaky bit of Fandom actually brought Anakin here, if it really was him, and would warning him about tall, dark, and scary cause the universe to explode.

Anakin's smile widened. "Relax," he said softly. "It's really me."

"You'd think I'd be used to the curveballs this place throws at you," Isabel said, finally giving him a smile. "It's good to see you."

"And you," Anakin said, nodding. "How have you been?"

[izzyalienqueen]

"About the same I guess. Going to classes, still dating Greg. Still haven't figured out a way back to Antar," she shrugged. "Not that I'm in any hurry to go. Actually it's funny. I was just telling someone about you a week or so ago."

Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Really? Good things, I hope."

[izzyalienqueen]

"Of course," Isabel nodded. "One of the new guys can pick up the powers of the people around him when he's with them. So I was helping him figure out the finer points of pillow fighting. Except we were tormenting my cat by using one of her toys." She grinned remembering Annie's frustration. "I told him that I'd help him, like you helped me and that it was his responsibility to help someone else in the future. Cheesy, I know..."

"Not at all," Anakin said, smiling softly. "I didn't know I'd made that kind of an impression."

"Well you did," she smiled back at him. "He wasn't the only person I tried to help like that. There was someone else. I'm pretty sure you'll meet him if you're sticking around."

Anakin remembered what Rory had yelled at him all of those months ago about who had been training his son.

"You mean Luke?" he asked.

"Oh good," Isabel laughed. "You've heard about him and I'm breaking your brain the way I think we all broke his when he first got here."

"He gave me a ride back," Anakin said. "It's...a little strange."

[izzyalienqueen]

"It's Fandom, I'd be worried if it wasn't," she replied.

"Can I ask how long it's been? It was something like six for Xander before he got to come back. Also? You're missing something." Isabel tugged on her hair about where his braid had been to indicate what she was talking about.

"It's been a few years," Luke admitted. "I'm 24 now. Or almost." He shrugged. "With an 18 year old son. Don't think about that too hard."
