Park, Tuesday Morning

Blair wrapped his arms around himself as he walked through the park. This whole early morning-rise with the sun-meditation thing would have worked better if it wasn't raining. His sweatshirt was starting to get damp and there was no way he was going to sit on the grass. Meditation worked just as well standing up, didn't it?

River had gone to the park to draw the ducks. Or talk to them, in case they should prove to be talkative, which usually wasn't the case.

She noticed Blair who seemed lost in thought, and called his name and waved.

Before he had really gotten into his meditation he heard River's call and opened his eyes. "Morning, River."

"Morning," River said smiling. "Meditating? It's a good place for that."

"It would be better if it wasn't so wet." There was a whiny note to Blair's voice.

[moonbrain_tam]

"Isn't meditation supposed to make you focus on things and forget about stuff like that? Or meditate on being wet?" River smiled up at the sky, letting the water run down her face.

"Yes. Doesn't mean I have to like it." Blair grumbled and then smiled at River's actions. "You don't seem to mind the rain."

"I like the rain. I missed it on the ship." She chuckled. "Doesn't rain much in space."

"Yeah, you wouldn't think so." Blair laughed. "What else did you miss while you were in space?"

"Animals. Although once we transported cows. They didn't like it much though. And good food."

"Cows on a space ship?" Blair gaped. "Like cryogenic frozen alien cows?"

"Live cows. Eating. Breathing. Shitting. It did smell." River giggled.

"Weird." Blair wrinkled his nose. "Or not weird. I guess it's weird because it's normal or something. Does that make sense?"

"Out of place in space?" River suggested. "The ducks here aren't very communicative."

"Exactly." Blair looked over at the ducks. "You speak duck?"

[moonbrain_tam]

"No," River said. "Pippi taught me some Squirrel. You speak Duck?"

"Nope. I learned a lot of animal languages last semester, but duck wasn't one of them." Blair grinned. "I'm really good at snake and my rat isn't bad."
