Rory had retrieved the trophy, and toddled back to Anakin. "Victory lap to this stupid song then sleep," she told him.

"No. What if I never sleep again?" she wondered. "What if I go back to my room and I can't sleep and I just stay up for the rest of my life?"

"That won't happen," Anakin said with a smile. "I'm looking foward to a long shower and a longer nap."

"Can't help you with that," Anakin said as the music began to wind down. "But I think if we sit down, we might never get up again. And I don't want to live in Caritas."

"I don't either. People sing there," she said, nearly dropping the trophy. "This thing is heavy and useless. Why aren't you a mattress?" she asked it.

"Because that would be even harder to carry," Anakin pointed out. The music stopped and he leaned down to kiss Rory on the cheek. "Thank you for the dance."

Rory blinked, and went up on her toes to kiss his cheek shyly.

"Thank you for keeping me upright," she said softly.
