Well, Joel is a family guy and he's actually really, really, really moral, while Ryan is neither of those things. I mean, Ryan's pretty crazy and vaguely self-absorbed-he should be with someone who can absorb all that crazy and just think it's sort of funny, the way that Simon does. Joel's too much of a normal guy, so he wouldn't be able to go on that ride. I don't think Ryan could calm down long enough to be with a super stable steady guy like Joel.

And I say that as someone who loves Ryan mostly because he is so crazy.

Ahh, mostly agree, but sometimes Ryan's crazy is so scary. Maybe he needs someone in his life who is stable and aware enough to knock some sense inside his head? I mean, I love Simon, but for him everything is a game.

I'd say not so secretly, considering the fact that he joked about him and Ryan getting married during this whole Miss California insanity. And this is one of the many examples.
