I guess F!S is simply instilling in me that if I don't make exactingly specific response, I do invite critique such as yours.
The part I agreed with was taking a story, editing it, and then sending it to the author. That was, and still is, the only part I agreed with. I don't spend much time thinking about responses on F!S, particularly since I give it all a cursory glance in the first place.
With you, I agree taking other people's work and posting it back up, only edited, is bullshit. Spend the time writing for yourself, because that is the wrong way of letting people know where they can stand to improve. No, I do not respect, and do not wish, for people to prance around riding high horses showing non-existent credentials for why they are asshats.
No, I don't find that "style" impressive. I'm surprised, perhaps in a good way, you felt so strongly as to reply to an offhand comment such as mine, and I apologize that I was so vague in describing what I did like, of this "style" that the OP engages in. Like you say, I "like" the
