"Hmmm," Toy said, brushing her still dusty hands against her apron. "That'll be out the back." She smiled at Perry. "I don't know why Slug Club Sundaes aren't more popular!"

Horace looked around the room, very satisfied with how things had turned out. Bright young faces and laughter tempered with the more sober mien of Ministry officials and Hogwarts faculty.

He popped a piece of crystallised pineapple into his mouth from a passing tray, and eyed the older students.

Who would it be tonight?

Perhaps Potter - his infatuation with Ginny Weasley could easily be nudged in that way. Hermione Granger; smart little thing, although it was clear that she was watching Snape.

Snape. Oh, yes, he'd be one of the players - knew it too.

Snape looked over at Horace and smiled, a curl of his lip and an arch of one eyebrow. He glanced towards Potter.

Horace hummed, and picked up another piece of crystallised pineapple before popping it into a pocket of his robe and dusting it in what appeared to be icing sugar. Severus was right, of course. Harry Potter was definitely the prize tonight, and Horace would most certainly enjoy the benefits of being an influential man.

Fitting really, he thought, making his way to where Potter was glaring at Severus from his corner. Dumbledore had offered Potter as bait after all.

"Sweet, young Harry?"

"Hope you enjoy it," Toy said cheerfully, "and do come again!"

Perry uttered a small, delighted squeak, and blushed a furious red whilst shaking Toy's hand vigourously.

"That was bloody marvelous" she said, rather breathlessly, "I will be sure to promote your shop everywhere I go!"
