things and stuff: more updates from New York

1. Nevada Smiths. I went there last week for the US/North Korea Women's World Cup match and it was fantastic. THE KITS ON THE WALLS. All of my clubs represented, all signed (!!!), just plain fabulous. When I live in New York full time I swear I will watch a few club matches there because they are awesome. And the cider was pretty decent, which doesn't hurt.

Speaking of football, I am pinning my hopes on the American ladies because they are wonderful. I have a feeling it'll be a Germany/USA final - just a feeling, you know? ;)

2. It doesn't get more American than being able to have Ukranian food (the pierogis oh god please yes), fusion-y desserts (not quite living up to the hype but the cake truffles were delightful), and Belgian fries with Parmesan peppercorn dipping sauce in one neighborhood in one day. Oh and top it off with a fabulous(ly bloody) old-school-style Japanese feudal/historical movie in an indie theater. I love this city, and I love Adam for enjoying all of these things with me. Truly, truly a magical thing.

3. CAKE. I am making so much cake. This past weekend I made an ube cake with cream cheese and macapuno (jellied coconut) frosting for my father's birthday. It turned out very dense (too much ube) but still insanely delicious and unique. This coming weekend for my own birthday I am making a cake with guava and cream cheese swirls and a honey glaze to be poured on top. I really like cream cheese and things that go well with cream cheese, okay? XD

4. Hopefully soon I will actually have a job prospect to talk about. Hopefully. ;____________;

5. I gave in and bought the red/gold Char's Zaku shirt and the blue Tachikoma shirt, plus three plain shirts (red polo, navy v-neck, teal crew cut) because the plain shirts were a steal at $6 a pop. SO SOFT AND NICE EEEE. Also I finally own a Ghost in the Shell shirt. I'm pretty sure my life is complete. ;)

So how's it going, friends list?

real life: the job search, anime: gundam, anime: ghost in the shell, real life: adam is basically perfect, real life: holidays, craft: cooking/baking
