Synopsis: Modern day AU, with Arthur as a Detective Inspector (DI Pendragon), and Merlin as his new Detective Superintendent (DS Emrys) partner.

Gushing: I've put this down as both a drabble and a long fic, because each chapter takes the form of a short drabble, but it already has over 40 chapters, which makes it quite long.
This fic has a great plot idea - Detective!AU, what's not to love?! - but I'm also enamored of the writing style employed by givemethebook. I'm not overly fond of drabbles, 'cause they always leave me wanting more, but by extending the number of chapters I think it keeps this fic really fresh while still providing the kind of storyline you'd expect in a fic with longer chapters. I also think it's really great how the author has tried to keep the characters true to the tv show, and yet explored how the people and situations can be transferred across to the modern day. :)
