2nd floor common room, Wednesday afternoon (after classes)

Hunting had been a good distraction for awhile, but when Wyatt returned to the second floor, he found himself dwelling again on what they were going to do about Belthazor. Having an uncle who was half-demon was bad enough. The Source of All Evil? That was right out.

He sighed and flopped on the couch. Maybe TV would be another distraction.

Anders probably shouldn't have been wandering around by himself, but he was getting a little restless. Besides, it was just the common room, right?

He felt a little more justified in the decision upon seeing Wyatt in there. "Hey, man," he said, sinking into one of the couches.

"Hey," Wyatt said, looking up from mindless channel surfing. "What's up?"

"Eh," Anders said in a flat voice. "Looking for something that doesn't involve thinking."

"Same here," Wyatt said. "Been doing far too much of that for the past few days."

"Yeah? What've you been thinking about?" asked Anders as he tried to wedge himself into the couch cushions, or something.

[blessed_twice]

"My aunt's husband. Boyfriend. Whatever." He eyed Anders speculatively, remembering what Weiss had told him.

Anders went slightly pale, and tried even harder to get into Wyatt's pants between the couch cushions. "What about him? Other than the whole big evil problem?"

"We're going to have to find a way to vanquish him," Wyatt said, watching for Anders's reaction. He didn't mention they already had a spell to do it.

"Vanquish?" repeated Anders. "As in, like, kill? Him, and not just whatever's controlling him?"

He looked like he didn't like the sound of that at all.

"We may not have a choice," Wyatt said. "Besides, he's a demon."

[cantgetnorelief]

"He's a good guy, though," Anders replied after a very long lapse into silence. "He can be, anyway."

"Have you seen what's been written about him and the stuff he's done?" Wyatt said.

[cantgetnorelief]

Anders shook his head. "I just know what I've seen him do here. He can be . . ." He paused and let out a brief, humorless laugh. "He can be good. Besides, how do you know that stuff has even happened yet? And then there's Angel, who supposedly did stuff that was just as bad or worse, and everybody trusts him."

"Angel?" Wyatt said. "That another demon around here? Kind of an ironic name, isn't it?"

[cantgetnorelief]

"Vampire," Anders clarified, "who graduated, and yeah, I guess it is, huh? There isn't a way to do this without killing him? 'cause I -- uh -- I think a few people here might take it kinda hard."

"I don't know," Wyatt said. "But we'll do what we have to do to stop him."
