Fourth Floor Common Room - Sunday morning

Dean was in the kitchen, humming Christmas carols absently as he cooked breakfast that consisted of the bacon and eggs and French toast alone with the usual breakfast stuff. There was also egg nog along with the usual orange juice and coffee because hey, Christmas Eve Day

Cally wandered down a floor, enticed by the smell.

"Mmmm, smells good," she said.

[saltandammo]

"Help yourself," Dean said, shooting her a friendly grin.

[sogothcally]

"You're very kind and generous," Cally said. "I guess you're not really 'stuck' here for Christmas if you're family is here, huh?"

[saltandammo]

"Nope," Dean said grinning. "The location's never really meant much -- we've always been on the move since I was about four. It's us all being in the same place that's important."

[sogothcally]

Cally smiled. "That's totally awesome," she said, reaching for the bacon and devouring it hungrily before Mac could see. "I would say it's all sad that I'm not home for Christmas? But we kinda don't have Christmas at home."

[saltandammo]

"You see that?" Dean said, pointing with the spatula for emphasis. "That's the sad part. No Christmas?"

[sogothcally]

"We don't have Thanksgivaling, either," Cally said. "We're crazy and alien with our holidays." She giggled a little.

[saltandammo]

"So what do you have instead?" Dean asked curiously. "If you have any holidays I mean."

[sogothcally]

"Oh we have holidays," Cally said. "Most of 'em take a backseat to Colonial Day, though." Since that's the only canonical one.

[saltandammo]

"When's that?"

[sogothcally]

"Well, we have a different calendar," Cally said. "Umm, I think it'd be around..." Once Cally remembered the date, she told Dean in this handwavey manner. "It's kinda like Guy Fawkes. And Independance Day. All in one."

[saltandammo]

"So big on the fireworks and pyrotechnics, huh?" Dean grinned. "I can get behind that. We should see about what we can do about it here when it comes up."

[sogothcally]

"Yeah, we'll definitely get something together," Cally said. "It's about the only Colonial Holiday worth sharing."

[saltandammo]

Dean nodded. "Count me in to help."

[sogothcally]

"Will do," Cally said. "Well, thanks for the bacon. I'm gonna go pester my girlfriend."

Dawn waved a slice of bacon at Cally. "Morning."
