Fourth Floor Common Room - Sunday morning

Dean was in the kitchen, humming Christmas carols absently as he cooked breakfast that consisted of the bacon and eggs and French toast alone with the usual breakfast stuff. There was also egg nog along with the usual orange juice and coffee because hey, Christmas Eve Day

It's a Sunday morning, so of course the first place Mac heads for is where there seems to be a supply of coffee and food.

She's not entirely awake, but manages a smothered yawn and a fairly cheerful, "G'morning."

"Morning!" Dean replied cheerily. "Help yourself."

Mac arched an eyebrow, and headed to where there was coffee. "You are way too awake," she remarked as she poured herself a mug.

"And cooking. Which is kinda impressive, actually," she continued.

"There was generous application of black coffee before there was cooking," Dean explained.

[imac_kenzie]

"And that in itself makes it possible that you are actually human," Mac said with a chuckle before she sipped from her own mug.

"Last I checked I was," Dean said chuckling. "It's Alec who's not."

[imac_kenzie]

Mac thought for a moment. "Don't think I know him," she said a moment later. "But, not being human isn't exactly unusual around here."

"True," Dean agreed. "Alec looks just like me, so you'll know him if you see him."

[imac_kenzie]

"Or, I'll just think he's you," Mac said. "If it's one of those doppelganger situations, I don't think I know you well enough to be able to tell the difference. No offense."

[saltandammo]

Dean grinned. "None taken. I think we've both have kinda got used to saying 'Dean, not Alec' or in Alec's case 'Alec, not Dean.'"

[imac_kenzie]

"Must get kinda annoying, though," Mac said. "Plus, weird seeing yourself everywhere."

[saltandammo]

"Nah. We're best friends actually."

[imac_kenzie]

"That's... cool, in a slightly odd kinda way," Mac said slowly. "Very Fandom. Only round here would you get that happening."

[saltandammo]

"True. There's a lot of conversations that can start 'Only in Fandom...'"

[imac_kenzie]

"and a surprising amount of the stuff that would involve use of that phrase, happen in finals week," Mac said. "Think the appliances in this school have a sixth sense for bad timing."

[saltandammo]

"Here, that actually sounds not impossible," Dean agreeed.
