[3rd Floor Common Room] Early Afternoon

Dec 07, 2006 13:03

Weiss didn't have classes on Thursdays and he decided to do a little baking. Or at least attempt it. He figured if he loves brownies, he should make sure he can have 'em whenever.

He's a logical dude like that. Come on in while he mixes the batter.

After dance class, Nadia decided to peek into the common rooms and see if anyone was about on her way back to her room.

Lo and behold. She waved her uninjured hand. "Hey, Eric,"

Weiss waved back with his batter-mixing hand, wooden spoon still tucked between his thumb and pointer. "Hey Nadia. C'mon in. Enjoy the smell of fresh brownie batter. Tell me all about the exciting hand injury."

Nadia shrugged one shoulder. "Ooo, brownies. As for this," she gestured to the brace on her shoulder sorry, could have been clearer. "This is thanks to the trolls."

Weiss cringed. "Yikes. You're okay, though, right? Brace aside."

"Fine. Just have to wear this thing for another week or so, and then I'll be good as new. What about you? Get through the trolls unscathed?"

"I was home for the weekend. I miss all the good invasions," Weiss said, joking but sorta not.

Nadia was dating a guy who would be rather upset if he missed a chance to fight and kill things, so she just nodded. "Don't worry, we'll get another one eventually."

"Very cool," Weiss said. "Here's to minimal injury to our persons." He dipped a finger in the batter and licked it off.

"You get less brownies when you do it that way, you know," Nadia reached out to dip her finger in as well.

Weiss proffered the bowl. "Grandma Weiss always used to make me wash my hands before and after finger dipping goodness, but I'm way lax on that point."

"I promise I don't have cooties." Nadia enjoyed a small finger-full. "I'm jealous. I can't cook right now. Too much seems to involve two hands."

"Well, I'm not saying I can cook either, so you might want to hold off on the jealousy until we determine if the brownies are edible."

"Sweet. You can thank Grandma Weiss for that. She's a mean cook. No, really. She was mean in the kitchen. Slapped wrists and glaring."

Nadia laughed. "You know I'm picturing Grandma Weiss as you in a curly gray wig, right?"

"That's a disturbing thought and sadly, not to far from the truth. Although she's a short, short woman," Weiss said.
