After the buzz of yesterday, Nadia was feeling a bit gloomy again. She'd managed to get herself some soup without too much "I can only use one arm!" trauma, and that, combined with some hot chocolate, was working wonders for her ability to pretend it wasn't effin' freezing outside

Walter looked over his shoulder at Schrodinger and frowned. It was the first time he'd seen the catboy outside of class since the incident in Nadia's room.

"Hey Walter," Schrodinger said cheerfully. "How've you been?"

Walter narrowed his eyes for a moment, then nodded. Can't kill the messenger or the connection to this mystery doctor would be lost.

He answered tersely. "Better."

"That's too bad. Anything I can do?"

Walter frowned more at Schrodinger's response. "Go swimming."

"Why would that help?" Schrodinger asked. "I mean, I could if it would make you happy."

[walter_n_wires]

"I know a perfect spot." Pippi could sail them to it. They could wrap his ankles in chains and then send the anchor over the side with him attached to it right in the middle of fish monster territory.

Ah, it was good to have a rich fantasy life.

Nadia scowled at Schrodinger. "It isn't. What of it?"

"You're awfully defensive tonight. Are you feeling alright?"

"Why, you have another package to make things go crazy again?"

"Why would I do that? It was a one time only deal. I wouldn't do something that you hadn't agreed to do."

". . . So that's it? My 'debt' is totally paid off?"

"As far as I know. But I'm not the one you made the deal with, so I'm mostly guessing. You'd have to ask him."

"How the hell am I supposed to do that?"

"You ask me to ask him," Schrodinger responded.
