Second Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

After a good all-out run around the island and a shower, Anders set up camp in the second floor common room for the night. Several large boxes from Pizza Planet were stacked up on the end table next to a bowling-pin setup of soda bottles, and the TV was tuned to Gelmoore Gals, mostly as background noise

Angela wandered in and took a cooling slice of pizza before collapsing on the couch. "This show's still on?"

"Hi."

"Hi," Angela said, nibbling on the pizza. "What's up?"

[l1ttle_billy]

"Not much. So far the opinion is that's a good thing."

[chasingangela]

"In the sense of 'no invasion,' yeah," Angela agreed. "But I dunno. It's kind of starting to worry me. The quiet before the storm, and all that."

[l1ttle_billy]

"I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop yeah."

[chasingangela]

That got a tiny smile. "Sounds like you're really adjusting to this place."

[l1ttle_billy]

"Guess you could say that. Lotta warnings, and so far, nothing's happened except getting a book thrown at me by the Ethics teacher."

"I'm trying to avoid that guy," Angela said with a shudder. "There are some rumors about him, and, like, even if they aren't true? You wonder what kind of person he is that people would say that stuff about him."

[l1ttle_billy]

"What rumors? I've been wondering what his deal is."

[chasingangela]

Angela leant in closer, loweing her voice. "People say he killed a lot of people. Including someone who used to go here. A good friend."

[l1ttle_billy]

Billy narrowed his eye. "I believe it." he said. "But if he killed a student, what's he doing teaching here?"

Angela's jaw set. "I would really like to know that too. My boyfriend talked to Principal Washburn, and she said we have nothing to worry about. But if he lays one finger on anyone, I am getting the hell out of here. I don't want to die young. Coming here brings you too close too often as is."

"This place...I can't figure it out. People rave about it, but at the same time they talk about life and limb threatening things happening every other month. People say they feel safe here, but the hire a mass murderer, who's already killed a student, to teach Ethics for christ's sake?"

Angela's shoulder's sagged, and she looked near tears. "I don't know. I don't understand it."

"I'm going to bed."

"Looks like. I wasn't really paying attention." Anders waved at Angela with his book. "Hey, Chase."
