The 3rd floor Common Room Thursday Evening 9/14

Lavender is cooking up a storm. It had all started when she decided it was her turn to cook after all the free food she’d eaten in the common rooms since she arrived in Fandom. But it looks like she got a little carried away.

Luke poked his head into the common room.

"Food?" he asked hopefully.

Lavender smiled at him. "Hello! Help yourself. I'm Lavender." She wiped her hands on her apron.

"Luke," he replied. "And thank you!" He peered at the unfamiliar food. "Um. What is it?"

Lavender smiled sympathetically. "Um ok let's start with this." She pointed to the chicken. "Do you have chickens where you're from?"

"Poultry that tastes like just about anything?" Luke said, smiling. "We have something similar."

Lavender laughed. "Yup. You can start there if you like. These are all vegetables" she poitned to each as she named them "tomatoes, peas and carrots, and mashed potatoes."

Luke piled up a plate with the food she pointed out. "Thanks," he said. "At home I totally know what food is," he assured her, "but here? It's a whole different world." He paused and laughed. "Which makes sense."

"I'm lucky that the food isn't that different here. There's pumpkin juice too," she pointed. "That might be a thing from my world though. I'm Lavender by the way."

"Which world are you from, then?" Luke asked, digging into his food with enthusiasm. "I'm from Tatooine."

"I'm from London which is a city in this world but I'm a witch so it's a very different culture.

[tatooine_doofus]

"I knew a wizard once," Luke offered. "Well, he wasn't a wizard so much as he was a Jedi but they weren't supposed to exist any longer."

He was babbling, yeah.

Lavender totally understands babbling. "What's a Jedi?" she asked.

"They were the protectors of peace and justice in my galaxy," Luke said with a small smile. Someone else who hadn't known Anakin.

"I'm going to be one," he continued. "Um. Just as soon as I figure out how."

"That seems like a very worthy goal." Lavender returned the smile. "Peace and justice are good."

"And in pretty short supply back where I come from," Luke said, frowning. He shook his head. "Anyway. What classes are you taking, Lavender?"

"21st century Pop Culture, I'm a little lost. Cross Species Communications and Good Omens and Bad which is about prophecies. What about you?"
