Holding a large stick with a piece of poster board attached wasn't the easiest thing to do with one hand. Which meant that Blair's big protest sign today spent a lot of time leaning on the walk next to him when his arm got too achy.

He felt bad though and intermittently would call out the sign's message loudly. "Give Peace a Chance!"

Conner tried to sneak past Blair and get into the classroom without being noticed and therefore called on last week's 'offer' of being an inside informant.

Conner facepalmed, mentally. "It went okay," he said cautiously. "We really didn't do too much except the intro thing. Who broke your arm?"

"Cool, cool." Blair nodded. "I'm glad I have you as my inside man. I need to know when to make the next move."

"River did, but it was totally by accident. Sorta."

"I should have a better idea for you by the end of the day," Conner said, and at least he was being pretty honest about it. "River broke your arm? She seems so tiny and . . . I thought she'd be the type of person who'd help you protest, not beat you up for it!"

"She's a lot stronger than she looks, man. River had some issues and thought that Pippi was possessed or something." Blair said sadly. "I tried to talk her down but that didn't work out as well as I planned."

"Totally, dude!" Conner fished a red Sharpie RT out of his backpack (yes, he kept one around for just this sort of situation) and clicked the button repeatedly, trying to figure out what to say.

Finally, he scrawled a brief message. "There you go."

Conner put the Sharpie back into his backpack. "Well, that is the theory, at least. We'll see what happens."

"I guess...good luck?" Blair shrugged one shoulder. "I don't want you to kill anything, but you shouldn't fail your class either."
