Pip was taking a brief walk between bouts of lying in bed and whimpering when he heard Chard playing. "Well, Senor Chad. How's it going?"

The morning had him meeting two new cute girls, joining a protection force, and having and adorable puppy fall asleep on his lap. "Pretty damn good, Monsieur Pip." He strummed a quick, upwards scale. "You?"

"Been better," Pip said. "But before I got kicked in the groin last night it was going pretty well."

Chad winced sharply, grunting at the imagined pain. It was actually a pretty big expression for him; a kick to the groin was definately enough to get even him to emote. "How'd that happen? Or would you rather not say?" Because Chad could imagine himself getting into a few situations that would end like that, and he certainly would not want to talk about them.

"I... don't think it's entirely my place to say," Pip said.

No, he wasn't just trying to cover up the fact that he got beat up by a 98-pound girl.

Chad nodded with an 'I see' sort of grunt, thinking he understood, and feeling grateful that Ranma had only chosen to punch him that one time and not respond in the way that whichever girl Pip had assumingly accidently offended did.

"How was your band meeting?" Pip asked, changing the subject.

[senor_chado]

"Good," Chad plucked a few strings. "Gonna be really interesting." Although interesting didn't quite cover it. It wasn't like a bass player had to do much. He just had to know his part, show up, and he got to hang out on a stage with a bunch of cute girls. Best. Band. Ever.

Pip nodded and lit a cigarette. "Good," he said as he flicked his lighter shut. "Band rules forbid you from attending jam sessions?"

Strum. "Not that I'm aware of."

[cyclopeanmerc]

"Good," Pip said, smiling. "Well, keep an ear open. We may be holding another rooftop jam before you know it."
