Dean hauled the bags of ingredients he and Sammy had handwavily bought in town into the kitchen and dumped them on the counter.

"There," he said, turning to his brother. "I think we've got everything."

"I think so too. At least, I hope so, because I do not feel like venturing back to town for anything we missed," Sam replied. He may have gone back to being a bit cranky the more he thought about why they were cooking.

"Y'know, you don't actually melt in the rain," Dean pointed out as if this fact needed to be seriously established.

"Yeah, but I do get wet and cold and uncomfortable," Sam said, starting to sort through what they'd bought. "I'd almost prefer melting."

"You're such a wimp," Dean said affectionately.

Tyler came in, rubbing sleep out of his eyes as he poked in the fridge to se if anything looked like breakfast. "Morning, guys."

"Hey Tyler," Dean greeted him as he sorted through pie ingredients. "How's it going?"

"Been better, been worse," Tyler said, settling on some cereal and pouring it into a bowl. "What are you guys up to?"

Dean smiled. "Pies. Got dinner at our Dad's tonight so we're making dessert to take."

Zack wandered in sipping a cup of coffee. "Morning."

Dean nodded at him. "Hey."

"Is it just me or this place get busy all of a sudden?"

Yes, Zack had spent the last week holed up in his room.

"New student influx for the fall semester." Dean stared at him for a moment. "You do remember that fall classes start this coming week, right?"

Luke poked his head into the common room. "Food?" he asked, sounding hopeful.

Dean pointed at the fridge. "Generally that's a good place to start looking," he said.

Luke grinned. "Any blue milk?" he asked, beginning to rummage.

Blue milk? "You gotta be new. Let me give you a piece of advice, kid. If you ever find milk around here that's blue, don't drink it."

After leaving the stables, Bel wandered back up stairs and paused at the third floor. "Hey," he said to the room in general.

He was a morning person.
