Nadia lay stretched out on the grass, watching the sky for breaks in the clouds so she could pretend they made shapes.

On the one hand, Constant Vigilance seemed like it would be a good class, and she was pretty sure that the Doctor might be the coolest teacher since Mac left. She idly wondered if she could call the Doctor "Doc". Also, she was ( Read more... )

"Hey Anders!" Nadia didn't giggle, because now she was well aware that Conner wasn't actually "ill equipped". "How are you?"

"Excited," he said, and the bouncing probably gave it away. "Me and Conner are heading to Boston tonight, for the weekend. You're looking relaxed."

"That sounds like fun. Anything in particular planned? And I have to get my relaxing in now. I seem to have managed to get detention, tomorrow."

"Oh, frak me. Another random one?" Anders shook his head. "What is wrong with this place?"

He did a few jumping jacks, more out of sheer exuberance than anything else, and explained, "I couldn't pass up the chance to see the Red Sox play at home. And Conner wants to see that bar where everybody knows your name, or whatever it is."

"There's a bar like that? Are they all psychic, or do they make you wear a name tag when you walk in the door?"

"No, it's some TV show that's based off of this bar in Boston," Anders explained. "Theme song goes on about going where everybody knows your name. Although now that I think about it, they probably could be psychic. After almost a year in Fandom, it wouldn't surprise me."

Nadia blushed. "I have no idea where I got my hands on those books, either. That tasty blue drink should be banned for life. But you're one to talk, Mr. My-Songs-All-Sound-Like-They're-Sung-by-Emo-Women,"

It was Anders's turn to blush. "They were appropriate!"

"So were my poems. Sort of."

"The poems were awesome," Anders said. "I was kind of sorry Walter dragged you off the stage."

"I tried to tell him I wasn't done . . . but he promised me booze and kisses."

"Ah. Yeah, I'd let myself get dragged offstage for that, too." Anders bounced a few more times in a rather Blair-like fashion. "Man, I hope I get to catch some balls this weekend."

Nadia snickered. "Oh, don't you start,"
