2nd Floor Common Room Kitchen - Afternoon

May 17, 2006 13:21

Elizabeth was pretty much fed up of doing nothing.

She pulled out a folder of recipes, and having checked ingredients and *handwavily* buying what she was missing, she headed to the kitchen to hopefully not create a disaster.

isabel evans, sam carter, peter pevensie, willow rosenberg, 2nd floor common room, m parker, elizabeth weir, veruca cally, hamlet dane, samuel anders, paige matthews, bridge carson, buffy summers, jack harkness

In search of people, and despite spending lots of time in other common rooms over the last week, force of habit still sent Isabel to the second floor. "Hi Elizabeth! Hi Willow!"

"Hey, Isabel. How's things?"

"Things are well," Isabel smiled. "I'm enjoying the break. How about you?"

"Bored of the break," Elizabeth grinned. "Hence the cooking and baking!"

"I get that," she grinned back. "Although I'm not admitting I miss classes. I just want the workshops to start because they look fun. Do you need help?"

"Not this round of cookies, thanks," Elizabeth said, quickly cutting out the circles. "I will freely admit that I miss classes. Have I asked you what workshops you're taking yet?"

"I'll have to keep you in mind come Christmas," Isabel said with a small laugh. "I'm big with the baking then. I've already told Aeryn she'll be in charge of putting the sugar on them."

"I'll be taking Archery, First Aid, and Karate for serious purposes. For fun, I'm taking Things to do at the Beach."

"I'll make these again, come Christmas for sure," Elizabeth smiled, finishing cutting them and squishing the extra bit of dough into one last cookie. "I just randomly decide that I feel like baking at differing times of the year."

"Cool. I'm taking the beach one too. There's a good few of us, so that should be fun."

"I'm going to have to wait around to sample these. They look good," Isabel said eyeing the pan. "I know that feeling. I wound up cooking a huge Italian dinner for everyone that wandered past back in March. I really need to do it again."

"You are? Oh great," she grinned. "I know Parker's taking it. And Jack. And with Jarod teaching it, I think we'll have a great time."

"Hopefully they'll taste as good as they look," Elizabeth grinned, placing them in the oven and checking the time on her watch. "Right, they're in for twenty minutes or so. Ooh, Italian. This island needs a decent Italian. If you want a hand next time you do something like that, then, well, I've got two!"

"Yes, I love the beach. I never get to spend as much time as I'd like there though," she said. "I just hope the weather stays nice!"

"I'll keep you in mind. An extra set of hands is always good," Isabel grinned. "That time I kept it somewhat simple, just some appetizers, a puttanesca sauce, salad, bread, and dessert. If I get crazy I might make Lasangna one night."

"I'm just hoping that being on the wetter will mean it's slightly cooler then Roswell. I mean seriously," she laughed. "The desert in July. Do you know how hot it gets?"

"Simple is always good for large amounts of people," Elizabeth nodded. "I make a mean vodka penne. Lasagna's pretty easy to do, or at least I always thought it was. It also has the advantage that you can just throw it in the oven and pretty much leave it there."

Elizabeth grinned. "I'm sure it will be. I can't say I've ever spent a summer in New Mexico, but I'd guess above 100 regularly!"

"Exactly. Although that time I could have done complex easily enough." Isabel grinned sheepishly, "that was back when I was dealing with a lot of the alien stuff. Cooking kept me busy and kept me from being too emo."

"Very regularly. You have to hide indoors most of the day."

Elizabeth smiled at her. "Keeping busy's always a good thing in cases like that," she said.

She winced. "Ouch. Well, it won't be quite that warm in Virginia, so we'll be able to spend time outside and especially at the beach!"

"Exactly. And Parker and I got to rate Cam in his superhero costume. So that was even more of a distraction."

Isabel grinned, "I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time there myself. I love watching the ocean. It's so different then anything I'm used to."

"Cam can be pretty distracting, even when he's not in a superhero costume," Elizabeth laughed.

She nodded. "Yeah. I love the ocean too. I used to live in next to it before I came here."
