Aeryn still has people to see and things she actually has to do, but first she wants to beat on something so she can just get that out of the way. She heads into the gym, giving the other girl a nod of acknowledgement, and then heading straight for the punching bag.

Landing on her feet again, Buffy stopped to give the unknown girl a cautious look, before nodding back. She didn't look like she was about to start talking about 'Sunnydale', 'sisters' or 'doubles'... In fact she looked more like she wanted to beat things. Buffy could related, so she said, "Good morning."

"Of course it is," Aeryn says, slightly muttered, going to hit the bag. She should have brought her gloves. Oh, well. "Hi."

And whack on the bag again.

Buffy stepped closer, tilting her head to watch the girl. "Nice form. I'm Buffy, by the way."

It takes Aeryn all of a second to recognize the name. Given that Angel just left yesterday, she's really trying to tell herself that it has to be a coincidence. Then again, it's Fandom. "Aeryn," she introduces herself. "Where are you from?"

"Los Angeles," Buffy beamed. No evil Sunnydale accusations! Yay! "Where are you from? Oh! Do you know when the cheerleader try outs start?"

Not the same place, exactly, she knows that much, so she would be willing to pass it off as coincidence. Except she's stuck on that last part. "Um. Cheerleader?"

"Yeah, like..." Buffy posed in the traditional Cheerleader pose and went, "Ready? Okay! Go Fandom High Sports team of some kind! Yay! Go!" She smiled sheepishly and stopped waving her arms about and jumping up and down. "Like that? Cheerleader."

Just when Aeryn thought she was used to this planet. "Never heard of it," she admits.

Buffy stared. "But... but... but... The school has a cheerleading squad, right? ...Right? Please say yes."

"We're a small school. We don't even have sports teams," she says, and almost feels bad about having to be the one to tell her.

Buffy looked stricken. "What kind of freaky school doesn't have cheerleaders? Next you'll tell me there's no SATs! ...Which wouldn't be so bad, now that I think about it. But how can there be no cheering? School spirit! Gymnastic! Tiny skirts! School spirit!"

Aeryn frowns at her, and congratulations, she is completely confused. "I have no idea what an SAT is," she says. "There's the occasional fight, and sometimes there is cheering."

Buffy frowned back. "Like wrestling?" Wrestling could possibly have cheerleaders...

"Is isn't usually organized, I think," she says. "Unless forming perimeters around the zombies counts. There did used to be a hockey team..."

Buffy was sidetracked. "Zombies? Like 'haven't had enough coffee yet' zombies? 'All night studying' zombies?"
