Elizabeth made herself comfortable, a pile of prom tickets besides her, and settled down for a long day.

[[ocd threads coming up all done. I'll be at the computer for probably most of the afternoon, but alas - essay writing]]

Marty walks by Elizabeth and the pile of tickets and breaks out into a cold sweat.

Might as well get this over with.

"Hey Elizabeth. I'll take... um.... *coughs* two tickets please."

Elizabeth looked up and smiled at him. "Hey, Marty. Welcome back," she said, picking up two tickets. "That's $50, please."

Marty seemed to be getting a nervous tic in his right eye as he pulled out his wallet. "Thanks, it's good to be back. Feels a little weird to come back on Monday and suddenly: *Whammo* 'Time for Prom!'. Know what I mean? Or is it just me who feels that way?"

"Are you okay?" Elizabeth asked, concerned, looking up at his right eye. "But yeah, I know what you mean. I'm even part of StuCo and it's still a surprise to me, y'know?!"

Marty rubbed his eye self-consciously. "Me? Just Dandy. Fine. Never better. Just happy to be back and getting ready to go to the... prom-thing. Yeah. So are you going with anyone?"

"Okay then," Elizabeth wasn't too sure, but she handed across the two tickets. She shrugged. "No, not really. I expect I'll go with Janet."

"Well I'm sure it'll be fun. Dancing. Formal wear," Marty swallowed hard. "Corasages. Those types of things. Thanks for the tickets."

On her way down to Journalism, D'anna stops by. Prom? Wonder if this has got some weird holiday attached to it.

Might as well find out.

"This 'prom' doesn't have some sort of religious observance attached to it, does it?" She asks, warily eying the stack of tickets.

"Not unless you count some guys praying that they'll get lucky," Elizabeth grins. "But it's not a religious thing like Easter was."
