Anders grins and flips back onto his feet (only not literally), then retrieves a green-sprinkled chocolate cupcake which he places in front of Bridge. "Motivation, dude."
Bridge eyes the cupcake for a second, and then glances back to his book. He then flips to the very last page of the chapter. "Oh, look. Done!" He stands right-side up in a way that manages to miraculously not squish the cupcake, which he proceeds to eat. "Thanks, dude!"
"Is that a bad thing?" Bridge asks, innocently. "And, um, Investigator's Club again and then I had my club that hasn't really started yet actually- that's the Fight Club," Bridge bounces, licking the last of the icing from his fingers. "You?"
"Fight Club?" Anders scrunches up his nose. "That sounds kinda . . . they allowed that? And no, sugar is not a bad thing. But man, talk about motivation!"
"Yup!" Bridge bounces. "Not, like, the kind of fight club where it's just beating people up kinda thing. But like, working on our combat skills, and how to work as teams and all that cool stuff!"
"Oh, cool! Not really my thing, but that sounds cool." He scratches his head. "But how do you know, y'know, stupid people aren't gonna try and sign up 'cause they hear 'fight' and go, 'oh hey, I can beat people up 'cause it's easier than dealing with my issues?'"
"Well, *hopefully* they'll figure out that the club isn't all about that kinda thing. Otherwise? They're probably gonna get their ass kicked by the people who know what they're doing, like Cal."
"Oh, I asked the Zordon dude, because he's totally in to all that teamwork and improving your fighting skills type-stuff," Bridge says, snagging another cupcake.
Anders's eyebrow skyrockets, because he wouldn't have the nerve to refer to the Dean that way, but he figures Bridge can get away with it by virtue of just being Bridge. "But . . . he has no hands. Or feet. Or even a body. Isn't that kind of a weird choice for a sponsor?"
"There are too many dead people at this school," says Anders, blinking furiously. "I mean, not that it's a slam against them or anything, but I'm kinda disturbed that I hear this now, and don't freak out any more. How do you know so much about him, anyway?"
"Oh, he's from the same reality-alternate-universe-thing that I'm from." Bridge says, "and did a lot of important stuff for the Rangers. So we had to learn about him in history class a lot. It's kind of weird meeting a historical figure, I have to admit."
He proceeds to stand on his head across from Bridge. "Whatcha readin'?"
