It wasn't unusual for Dante to be humming under his breath like this. Especially not from that record; his copy had gotten lost when the Hunter demon wrecked his trailer, and he was mourning it big time

It was a sort of humming day all around, wasn't it?

"Oh my god, is that cheesecake?" Because cheesecake overruled any weirdness happening here, okay?

"It's mine," Dante said immediately.

It was about as much of a lie as 'my hair's always been this color' would be.

Rhys looked a little dejected at that. Because cheesecake. Because cheesecake.

"I don't need any anyway."

"I dunno," Dante said, fishing a small fork out of a drawer somewhere. "You look like you need it."

Not that Rhys was getting it.

"Do I?"

You're a cruel man, Dante.

"Better swing by JGoB's and take care of that craving 'fore it eats you alive," Dante said, shoveling a chunk of cheesecake into his mouth. "Food, glorious food..."

"What." Because seriously, Dante.

Dante paused mid-bite.

He swallowed.

Then he groaned. "Aw, fuck. This again."

"What is this?" Rhys asked, looking around like he was expecting someone to jump out and say 'Got you!'

"Couple years back the island had this thing where everyone'd just start-- sing it out, boy, you've got to see what tomorrow brings..."

Rhys opened his mouth to laugh at that, but instead sang, "I can't see where you comin' from."

"That," Dante said, gesturing at him with his fork. "I mean, it's not all bad. Last time I wound up makin' out with Ada."

He shoved more food into his mouth.

Rhys took a careful step back from him.

"Let's avoid that, okay?"

Look, he didn't want to make out with any teenagers.

"You're not that hot," Dante said, rolling his eyes. "Calm your tits."

"Wait, you think I'm hot?" Rhys, focus here. "If you're having girl problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems and a bitch ain’t one."

And was incredibly glad that the Fandom song gods didn't force him to sing more of that song.
