While doing some exploring, Rey had come across the garage. She didn't know how long it'd been since this place was really in use, but she'd definitely never heard of anyone being here as long as she'd been around

Mayday was checking out the first floor of the dorms tonight. The rec room was pretty great, and she was already acquainted with the gym. So apparently it was time to see what was in the other corner of the building.

"Huh. I wasn't expecting a garage," Mayday said. Because what purpose did that serve in a place without cars? It was right after that she noticed she wasn't alone. "Oh. Hi. Sorry," she said. "I hope I'm not interrupting."

"Not at all," Rey said, looking up at her from the bike. "I just found this place myself."

"What did you find there?" Mayday checked, walking over. "Is that... a motorcycle without wheels?"

"It's a speeder bike," she said, giving the bike a tap. "It's old, but seems to be in pretty good condition. I don't think anyone's touched it in a while."

"Wait, so it's like a hoverbike?" Mayday asked. Yes, she was from a world where Iron Man made flying suits of armor a thing twenty years ago, but a hoverbike was a hoverbike. "Do you know how to work it?"

"More or less. There's not that much to them," Rey shrugged. "I'm guessing you're from somewhere that doesn't have them?"

"I guess it's pretty obvious," Mayday said. "I'm Mayday. In my world, if anyone's going to have something like that, it's going to be a technology-based superhero or something."

"Rey. You have technology-based superheroes?" She hadn't actually seen Tony be one, after all.

"Not too many. At least not these days," Mayday said. "They're more of a trend of the last generation of superheroes for some reason."

"I'm not used to superheroes at all," she said. "Definitely not enough for their to be trends."

"I'm getting the impression that most places don't have them," Mayday said. "It's kind of weird to find out that you're less normal than you thought just because you came from someplace that's apparently pretty different."

"I'm from space," Rey said, because yeah, she knew that, "and apparently no one on this planet ever goes there on purpose. I get it."

"You've got me beat," Mayday said after a moment's consideration. "Of course, we're on an island in space, so I probably shouldn't be too surprised."

Rey sighed. "Yeah, that's new. Where are you actually from?"

"New York," Mayday said. "It's just a few hours from here. Maryland. Not space."

"The place where all the shows on TV take place!" Rey said, glad to recognize something.
