Rapunzel had spent so much time in her tower doing certain activities that she almost didn't want to do some of them anymore, instead just picking and choosing her favorites -- the things she'd do even if she wasn't incredibly bored and lonely

Barry was on his way back out to the docks to do some work on the sub when he noticed Rapunzel in the common room.

"Oh! Hey Rapunzel," Barry said changing course. "I finally got something working for you."

He rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a pink baseball cap with a Fandom High logo.

"Ready to give this fucker a spin?"

"Yes!" Rapunzel almost spilled puzzle pieces everywhere in her excitement. She made actual grabby hands at the hat before remembering her manners. "I mean...if it's ready."

He wouldn't be offering if it wasn't, Rapunzel.

Barry laughed and tossed the hat at her. "Oh, it's ready. I've finished testing and your hair is absolutely safe," he said as he flopped on the couch. "But if you start hearing munching sounds take it off immediately."

His tone clearly indicates he's joking.

"No going in this hat unless you want to go to another dimension," she told Pascal seriously. He, for his part, looked about as nervous as a chameleon could at that prospect. Rapunzel carefully began feeding her hair into the hat, watching as it disappeared. "Barry, I can go anywhere with this! Thank you!"

"Don't worry, Pascal. If you go into another dimension I can get you back..."

Barry then WTF'd at himself because he was talking to a chameleon then quickly shrugged it off. "And since you can go off the island, I never fucking thanked you for helping me when I went bat-shit insane. You got anything going on next week?"

"Just...school," Rapunzel said slowly, halting in threading her hair into the hat. "Why? You don't have to thank me, Barry. I was just, y'know -- doing what I needed to."

"I was sneezing fucking gummi bears and puking rainbows on top of being bat shit crazy," Barry said shaking his head. "Plus you're going to fucking love where we're going."

"Where are we going?" Rapunzel asked excitedly, because seriously, Barry, you couldn't just say things like that and leave her hanging. She might just spontaneously combust from excitement.

Now wouldn't that be fun to see?

"Nope. Not telling," Barry said with a bratty grin. "It's a surprise."

"Barry, seriously, you don't have to do anything for me," Rapunzel hedged, even though she was actually bouncing a little on her toes with excitement, now. "I mean what good is magic hair if you can't use it to keep your friends from throwing up rainbows?"

A question for the ages, truly.

"Only on this island can we have a conversation this fucked up," Barry said with a snort of laughter. "Seriously, it's no big deal. We're just going on a fucking trip to DC."

"I've never been to DC!" No kidding. "...where is that?"

"Not too far away," Barry said with a smirk of amusement. "It's not too far away from the airport where we arrived if that helped. I think professor Lyman took one of his classes there."

"Ooh! What's there?"

Look, he'd already told her that much! Maybe he'd spill more!

Barry sighed. "Fine. We're going to a couple of art museums there."

"ART MUSEUMS?" Rapunzel fairly shrieked, so...yes. "Like, like other people's paintings? Like famous ones?"

Good job, Barry. You struck gold with that one. Rapunzel was now squeeing in a range only dogs could hear, probably.
