"Oh, Tim Gunn," Loki said, taking a seat on the back of one of the couches. "I believe he was Iron Man once."

Look. No one can explain Marvel sometimes.

"He was an iron man?" Celia repeated, frowning. "He was made of iron?"

She filed the name away, though. Tim Gunn. He seemed like a wise fellow.

He was the originator of the wise words 'Make it work'.

"It was only for a brief period of time," Loki said, not even thinking to correct this.

"However did he recover?" Celia asked, wide-eyed.

There were so many people with gifts she'd never even dreamed of. To be able to turn one's form to metal...amazing.

"Oh, once the battle was over, I would assume he shed the iron like a snake might shed it's skin."

Loki was the absolute worst.

"And emerges whole and human once more," Celia mused, watching this Tim Gunn with renewed interest. "One would think he'd have more useful things to do with his time than this, then. He's not even using his iron gift now."

Though he could and he wouldn't look much stranger than most of the contestants.

"I believe his role here is one of inspiration." Didn't you feel inspired by him?

"He does seem very inspirational. They seem to want to do what he says," Celia admitted. "So these must be his students? It seems strange, to watch novices this way." They all seemed so...unprepared.

"Oh! And the man of iron will give them money if he judges their offerings worthy enough," Celia said, nodding eagerly. "Well. I rather like that, actually. Are there many competitions like this one broadcast here?"

"Oh no, those who will bestow the money upon the lucky winner are a group of cruel harpies," Loki said sadly. "Though their maliciousness will teach a harsh lesson about the reality of the fashion world."

And this was from the guy who took away 'useful mutations will spare you a life of mockery and pain' from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Well, he wasn't wrong about that. Rudolph lucked out.

"Then what is the point in competing?" Celia wondered, frustrated. "If it is entirely malicious and arbitrary?"

"Their dreams, I believe." Yes. The fashion dream.

"I think I'd find another dream if I knew it would involve such things," Celia said, shaking her head. "Is this common in this world?"

"Oh, I find the crushing reality of life to be a constant in all nine realms."

"There's only nine?" Celia found that most interesting, given what she'd heard most of the week.
